But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Howbeit in[ the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was[ done] in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all[ that was] in his heart.

So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

你要記得，這四十年耶和華－你的神在曠野一路引導你，是要磨煉你，考驗你，為要知道你的心如何，是否願意遵守他的誡命。

這些事以後，神考驗亞伯拉罕，對他說：「亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裏。」

那些日子，希西家病得要死，就向耶和華禱告，耶和華應允他，賜他一個預兆。

又在曠野將你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，為要磨煉你，考驗你，終久使你享福。

人被誘惑，不可說：「我是被神誘惑」；因為神是不被惡誘惑的，他也不誘惑人。

但你若伸手毀他一切所有的，他必當面背棄你。」耶和華對撒但說：「看哪，凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退出去。

我就是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裏面的，我也常在他裏面，這人就多結果子，因為離了我，你們就不能做甚麼。

鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金，惟有耶和華熬煉人心。

他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能立得住呢？因為他如煉金匠的火，如漂洗者的鹼。他必坐下如煉淨銀子的人，必潔淨利未人，熬煉他們像金銀一樣；他們就憑公義獻供物給耶和華。

那時，巴拉但的兒子，巴比倫王米羅達‧巴拉但聽見希西家病得痊癒，就送書信和禮物給他。希西家歡喜見使者，就將自己寶庫裏的金子、銀子、香料、貴重的膏油和他軍械庫裏一切的兵器，以及他所有的財寶，都給他們看；在他家中和全國之內，希西家沒有一樣不給他們看的。於是以賽亞先知到希西家王那裏去，對他說：「這些人說了些甚麼？他們從哪裏來見你？」希西家說：「他們從遠方的巴比倫來見我。」以賽亞說：「他們在你家裏看見了甚麼？」希西家說：「凡我家中所有的，他們都看見了；我財寶中沒有一樣東西不給他們看的。」以賽亞對希西家說：「你要聽萬軍之耶和華的話，耶和華說：『看哪，日子將到，凡你家裏所有的，並你祖先積蓄到如今的一切，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣；從你本身所生的孩子，其中必有被擄到巴比倫王宮當太監的。』」希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好。」因為他想：「在我有生之年必有太平和安穩。」

我要使這三分之一經過火，熬煉他們，如熬煉銀子；試煉他們，如試煉金子。他們要求告我的名，我必應允他們。我說：「這是我的子民。」他們要說：「耶和華是我的神。」

大利拉說：「參孫，非利士人來捉你了！」參孫從睡中醒來，說：「我要像前幾次一樣脫身而去。」他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。

希西家對以賽亞說：「耶和華必醫治我，到第三日我能上耶和華的殿，有甚麼預兆呢？」以賽亞說：「耶和華必成就他所說的這話。這是耶和華給你的預兆：你要日影向前進十度呢？或是要往後退十度呢？」希西家說：「日影向前進十度容易；不，讓日影往後退十度吧。」以賽亞先知求告耶和華，耶和華就使亞哈斯日晷上照下來的日影，往後退了十度。那時，巴拉但的兒子，巴比倫王米羅達‧巴拉但聽見希西家生病了，就送書信和禮物給他。希西家聽使者的話，就將自己一切寶庫裏的金子、銀子、香料、貴重的膏油和他軍械庫裏的兵器，以及他所有的財寶，都給他們看；在他家中和全國之內，希西家沒有一樣東西不給他們看的。

求你不要轉臉不顧我，不要發怒趕逐你的僕人，你向來是幫助我的。救我的神啊，不要離開我，也不要撇棄我。

耶和華啊，你已經鑒察我，認識我。我坐下，我起來，你都曉得；你從遠處知道我的意念。

你不可聽那先知或是那做夢之人的話，因為這是耶和華－你們的神考驗你們，要知道你們是否盡心盡性愛耶和華－你們的神。

使你們的信心既被考驗，就比那被火試煉仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候得着稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。

「耶和華必成就他所說的這話。這是耶和華給你的預兆：看哪，我要使亞哈斯日晷上隨太陽前進的影子，往後退十度。」於是，在日晷上照下來的日影果然往後退了十度。

不要丟棄我，使我離開你的面；不要從我收回你的聖靈。求你使我重得救恩之樂，以樂意的靈來扶持我，

求你照你的話扶持我，使我存活，不要叫我因失望而蒙羞。求你扶持我，使我得救，時常看重你的律例。

耶和華對撒但說：「你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他那樣完全、正直、敬畏神、遠離惡事。你雖激起我攻擊他，無故吞滅他，他仍然持守他的純正。」撒但回答耶和華說：「人以皮代皮，情願捨去一切所有的，來保全性命。但你若伸手傷他的骨頭和他的肉，他必當面背棄你。」耶和華對撒但說：「看哪，他在你手中，只要留下他的性命。」

神啊，求你鑒察我，知道我的心思，試煉我，知道我的意念；看在我裏面有甚麼惡行沒有，引導我走永生的道路。
