我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？

难道你们不知道我和我的祖先怎样对付列国吗？列国的神明哪个能从我手中救自己的国家呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你们不知道吗？各地列国的神能拯救他们的国脱离我的手吗？

我與我列祖向列邦所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神何嘗能救自己的國脫離我手呢？

我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？

難道你們不知道我和我的祖先怎樣對付列國嗎？列國的神明哪個能從我手中救自己的國家呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你們不知道嗎？各地列國的神能拯救他們的國脫離我的手嗎？

我和我列祖向四圍各地萬族之民所行的、你們不知道麼？各地列國的神何嘗真能援救他們本地脫離我的手呢？

我與列祖何以待列邦之民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

我與列祖、滅四方民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之上帝、豈能救其國、脫於我手乎。

我與列祖如何待列邦、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

“ Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and the kings who ruled before me have done? Don’t you know what we’ve done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to save their lands from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

“ Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to rescue their land from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to save their land from my hand?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to deliver their land from my power?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of[ other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

Are you not aware of what I and my predecessors have done to all the nations of the surrounding lands? Have the gods of the surrounding lands actually been able to rescue their lands from my power?

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

列國的神明有哪一個曾救它本國脫離亞述王的手呢？哈馬、亞珥拔的神明在哪裏呢？西法瓦音、希拿、以瓦的神明在哪裏呢？它們曾救撒瑪利亞脫離我的手嗎？這些國的神明有誰曾救自己的國脫離我的手呢？難道耶和華能救耶路撒冷脫離我的手嗎？』」

你們不要恐懼，也不要害怕。我豈不是從上古就告訴並指示你們了嗎？你們是我的見證人！除我以外，豈有神呢？誠然沒有磐石，就我所知，一個也沒有！」製造偶像的人盡都虛空，他們所喜悅的全無益處；偶像的見證人毫無所見，毫無所知，以致他們羞愧。誰製造神像，鑄造偶像？這些都是無益的。

但是，我們的神在天上，萬事都隨自己的旨意而行。他們的偶像是金的，是銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞，有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，有喉卻不能說話。造它們的要像它們一樣，凡靠它們的也必如此。

關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「偶像在世上算不得甚麼」；也知道「神只有一位，沒有別的」。

看哪，你總聽說亞述諸王向列國所行的是盡行滅絕，難道你能倖免嗎？我祖先所毀滅的，就是歌散、哈蘭、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；這些國的神明何曾拯救他們呢？哈馬的王，亞珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪裏呢？』」

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施嗎？哈馬豈不像亞珥拔嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬士革嗎？既然我的手已伸到了這些有偶像的國，他們所雕刻的偶像過於耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像，

你們看到，也聽見這保羅不但在以弗所，也幾乎在亞細亞全地，引誘迷惑了許多人，說：『人手所做的不是神明。』

你們要對他們這樣說：「那些不是創造天地的神明，必從地上、從天下被除滅！」耶和華以能力創造大地，以智慧建立世界，以聰明鋪張穹蒼。

耶和華啊，亞述諸王果然使列國和列國之地變為荒蕪，將列國的神明扔在火裏，因為它們不是神明，是人手所造的，是木頭、石頭，所以被滅絕了。耶和華－我們的神啊，現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手，使地上萬國都知道惟有你是耶和華。」

耶和華啊，亞述諸王果然使列國和列國之地變為荒蕪，將列國的神像扔在火裏，因為它們不是神，是人手所造的，是木頭、石頭，所以被滅絕了。耶和華－我們的神啊，現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手，使地上萬國都知道惟獨你－耶和華是神！」

因神所賜給他的大權，各方、各國、各族的人都在他面前恐懼戰兢，因他要殺就殺，要人活就活，要升就升，要降就降。

亞述王上來攻擊以色列全地，上到撒瑪利亞，圍困這城三年。何細亞第九年，亞述王攻取了撒瑪利亞，把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。

雅各所得的福分不是這樣，因主是那創造萬有的，以色列是他產業的支派，萬軍之耶和華是他的名。

現在我－尼布甲尼撒讚美、尊崇、恭敬天上的王，因為他所行的全都信實，他所做的盡都公平。那行事驕傲的，他能降為卑。」

我的手奪取列國的財寶，好像人奪取鳥窩；我得了全地，好像人拾起被棄的鳥蛋；沒有振動翅膀的，沒有張嘴的，也沒有鳴叫的。」

我祖先所毀滅的，就是歌散、哈蘭、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；這些國的神明何曾拯救他們呢？哈馬的王，亞珥拔的王，西法瓦音城的王，希拿和以瓦的王，都在哪裏呢？』」

他們談論耶路撒冷的神，如同談論世上人手所造的神明一樣。

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」
