Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

难道你们不知道我和我的祖先怎样对付列国吗？列国的神明哪个能从我手中救自己的国家呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你们不知道吗？各地列国的神能拯救他们的国脱离我的手吗？

我與我列祖向列邦所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神何嘗能救自己的國脫離我手呢？

我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？

我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？

難道你們不知道我和我的祖先怎樣對付列國嗎？列國的神明哪個能從我手中救自己的國家呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你們不知道嗎？各地列國的神能拯救他們的國脫離我的手嗎？

我和我列祖向四圍各地萬族之民所行的、你們不知道麼？各地列國的神何嘗真能援救他們本地脫離我的手呢？

我與列祖何以待列邦之民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

我與列祖、滅四方民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之上帝、豈能救其國、脫於我手乎。

我與列祖如何待列邦、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

“ Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and the kings who ruled before me have done? Don’t you know what we’ve done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to save their lands from my power?

“ Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to rescue their land from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to save their land from my hand?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to deliver their land from my power?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of[ other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

Are you not aware of what I and my predecessors have done to all the nations of the surrounding lands? Have the gods of the surrounding lands actually been able to rescue their lands from my power?

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

Has any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their lands out of my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’”

Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.”All who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame.Who fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing?

Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see.They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell.They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat.Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them.

Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that“ an idol has no real existence,” and that“ there is no God but one.”

Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, devoting them to destruction. And shall you be delivered?Have the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?’”

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and he carried the people captive to Assyria.

Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus?As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols, whose carved images were greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,

And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.

Thus shall you say to them:“ The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.”It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.

Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their lands,and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.So now, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are the Lord.”

Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their landsand have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.So now, O Lord our God, save us, please, from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Lord, are God alone.”

And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled.

Then the king of Assyria invaded all the land and came to Samaria, and for three years he besieged it.In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria, and he carried the Israelites away to Assyria and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

Not like these is he who is the portion of Jacob, for he is the one who formed all things, and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance; the Lord of hosts is his name.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

My hand has found like a nest the wealth of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved a wing or opened the mouth or chirped.”

Have the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?’”

And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they spoke of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

and the king answered and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?”
