难道你们不知道我和我的祖先怎样对付列国吗？列国的神明哪个能从我手中救自己的国家呢？

我与我列祖向列邦所行的，你们岂不知道吗？列邦的神何尝能救自己的国脱离我手呢？

我与我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你们岂不知道吗？列邦的神明何尝能救自己的国脱离我的手呢？

我和我列祖向四圍各地萬族之民所行的、你們不知道麼？各地列國的神何嘗真能援救他們本地脫離我的手呢？

我與列祖何以待列邦之民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

我與列祖、滅四方民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之上帝、豈能救其國、脫於我手乎。

“ Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and the kings who ruled before me have done? Don’t you know what we’ve done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to save their lands from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

“ Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to rescue their land from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to save their land from my hand?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to deliver their land from my power?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of[ other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

Are you not aware of what I and my predecessors have done to all the nations of the surrounding lands? Have the gods of the surrounding lands actually been able to rescue their lands from my power?

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

有哪个国家的神明曾经从亚述王手中救他的国家吗？哈马、亚珥拔的神明在哪里呢？西法瓦音、希拿和以瓦的神明又在哪里呢？他们从我手中救出撒玛利亚了吗？这些国家的神明哪个从我手中救了自己的国家呢？难道耶和华能从我手中救耶路撒冷吗？’”

不要恐惧，不要害怕，我不是早已告诉过你们吗？你们是我的证人。除我以外还有真神吗？没有，没有别的磐石，一个也没有。’”制造偶像的真是无用，他们珍爱的偶像毫无价值。拜神像的人目盲眼瞎，愚昧无知，自找羞辱。制造神像、雕刻无益偶像的是谁？

我们的上帝高居在天，按自己的旨意行事。他们的神像不过是人用金银造的。它们有口不能言，有眼不能看，有耳不能听，有鼻不能闻，有手不能摸，有脚不能走，有喉咙也不能发声。那些制造它们、信靠它们的人也会和它们一样。

论到吃献给偶像的祭物，我们知道世上的偶像算不得什么，只有一位上帝，此外别无他神。

你肯定听过亚述诸王扫灭列国的事，难道你能幸免吗？我先祖毁灭了歌散、哈兰、利色和提·拉撒的伊甸人，这些国家的神明救得了他们吗？哈马王、亚珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪里呢？”

以色列王比加执政期间，亚述王提革拉·毗列色来犯，夺取了以云、亚伯·伯·玛迦、亚挪、基低斯和夏琐，占领了基列、加利利及拿弗他利全境，把那里的居民掳往亚述。

迦勒挪岂不是和迦基米施一样吗？哈马岂不是和亚珥拔一样吗？撒玛利亚岂不是和大马士革一样吗？它们不是都被我征服了吗？这些国家都在我的手中，他们雕刻的偶像不胜过耶路撒冷和撒玛利亚的偶像吗？

可是你们都看到了，也听见了，那个保罗在以弗所和亚细亚全境说服、误导了许多人，说什么人手所造的不是神。

你们要这样对他们说：“那些神明没有创造天地，它们将从天下消亡。”耶和华施展大能，用智慧创造大地和世界，巧妙地铺展穹苍。

耶和华啊，亚述诸王确实扫灭列国，使其土地荒凉，把他们的神像丢进火中烧毁。因为那些神像只是人用木头石头制造的，根本不是神。我们的上帝耶和华啊，现在求你从亚述王手中拯救我们，让天下万国都知道唯有你是耶和华。”

耶和华啊，亚述诸王确实扫灭列国，使其土地荒凉，把列国的神像丢在火中。因为那些神像只是人用木头石头制造的，根本不是神。我们的上帝耶和华啊，现在求你从亚述王手中拯救我们，让天下万国都知道唯有你是耶和华。”

因为他有上帝所赐的大权，各族、各邦、各语种的人都在他面前战抖，充满恐惧。他操生杀大权，可随意擢升、罢黜。

亚述王攻打以色列全境，并围困撒玛利亚三年。何细亚执政第九年，撒玛利亚沦陷。亚述王把以色列人掳到亚述，安置在哈腊、歌散的哈博河一带以及玛代人的各城。

但雅各的上帝截然不同，祂是万物的创造者，被称为“万军之耶和华”，以色列是祂的子民。

现在我尼布甲尼撒颂赞、尊崇、敬奉天上的王，因为祂的作为公正，祂行事公平，能够贬抑行为骄傲的人。”

我夺取列国的财物，好像探囊取物；我征服天下，不过是手到擒来；无人反抗，无人吭声。”

我先祖毁灭了歌散、哈兰、利色和提·拉撒的伊甸人，这些国家的神明救得了他们吗？哈马王、亚珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪里呢？”

他把耶路撒冷的上帝与世间人手所造的神像相提并论。

说：“这宏伟的巴比伦岂不是我用大能建立为京都，以显我的威严和荣耀吗？”
