He ordered the people living in Jerusalem to give the portion due the priests and Levites so they could devote themselves to the Law of the Lord.

Hezekiah gave an order to the people who were living in Jerusalem. He commanded them to give to the priests and Levites the share they owed them. Then the priests and Levites could give their full attention to the Law of the Lord.

維彼祭司、宜有智慧、既為萬有之主耶和華所遣、人當就彼、諮諏法度、

耶和華諭亞倫曰、以色列族以成聖之禮物、舉而獻我、我賜爾得之、爾既受膏、是物歸爾、爰及子孫、著為永例。凡奉我之禮物、及贖罪補過之祭。其中不燔以火者、皆為至聖、必歸於爾、爰及子孫、物既成聖歸爾、則諸丁男可食於聖所。以色列族所舉所搖之禮物、我賜於汝、爰及子女、凡室中成潔之人、可得而食、著為永例。人以新製嘉油、始熟旨酒、初稔之榖獻我、我以錫爾、獻我初熟之土產、俱歸諸爾、室中成潔之人、可得而食。以色列族、所獻我之物、皆必歸爾。凡初胎男子、首生牡畜、奉於我者、皆必歸爾、但初胎之男必贖、首生不潔之畜亦必贖。誕已彌月者、可以金贖、其價遵爾所估、二兩有半、權衡其數、必循聖所之法、十錢為一兩。首生之牛、綿羊、山羊、俱為成聖之物、可毋庸贖、必釁其血於祭壇、焚其膏為燔祭、取其馨香、以奉事我。肉則歸爾、與禮物中之右肩搖腔無異。以色列族、以成聖之物、舉而獻我、我錫於爾、及爾子女、至於後世、著為永例、垂為不易之約。○又曰、人獻我之禮物、爾可得之、故在以色列中、爾不得土壤、以為恆業。利未人於會幕中、供其役事、故我於以色列族之土產、什取其一、錫為恆業。

學者當以所需供教者、

曰、人豈可欺上帝哉、惟爾欺我、爾曰、何欺爾、曰、不納什一、不獻禮物、爾曹通國之民、無不欺予、故服咒詛、萬有之主耶和華曰、當納什一、入於府庫、使在我室、得有甘旨、以是試我、待我破天之隙、使盈餘之福、傾注而下、不可勝數。

摩西律載云、輾穀之牛、勿籠其口、上帝意豈在牛乎、此非為我言乎、固為我言也、使耕者望穡而耕、打稻者共得所望焉、吾播爾者、感神之道、則穫爾養身之物、豈為過歟、他人且操此權、況我乎、然我不為之、寧忍諸難、恐阻基督福音、詎不知助祭司者食諸殿、侍祭壇者、頒諸壇乎、如是、主命傳福音、則以福音而生、明矣、

利未人應得之物、民未與焉、故利未人、謳歌者、不復供役於殿、歸耕畎畝。我聞此、責諸伯曰、上帝之殿何不恪守、遂招徠利未人、使復厥職。猶大人攜穀之什一、新製之油、始釀之酒、藏於府庫。我使人理府庫、即祭司示利米、士子撒督、利未人比太亞、其次馬大尼孫、撒刻子哈難、此數人者、皆竭忠以供同宗為職。

凡男子自三歲以上、入耶和華殿者、按其譜系、循其班列、日給所需、俾供役事。

告利未人云、我使以色列族、什一輸爾、以為爾業、爾既受之、必於其中復取什一、舉而獻我、爾所舉以獻者、自我視之、與禾場之穀、酒醡之汁無異、以色列族所輸爾什一之中、爾當舉而獻我、且以獻我之物、歸祭司亞倫。

田之所產、樹之所結、什一奉我、俱歸我耶和華。所應輸之什一、人欲贖之、必加五分之一。牛羊為牧者計其數、必以什一歸我、或美或惡、毋庸察、亦毋庸易、如其易之、則所數與所易者、俱必獻我、不得復贖。
