Do not be stubborn, as they were, but submit yourselves to the Lord. Come to his Temple, which he has set apart as holy forever. Worship the Lord your God so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.

毋強爾項、濟乃父之惡、宜從耶和華。彼之聖室、業已成潔、歷世弗替、爾當入之、役事爾之上帝耶和華、則其震怒可息。

勿似爾祖父剛愎、當歸順主、至主所永定為聖之殿、奉事主爾列祖之天主、庶主向爾息怒、

Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.

Don’t be stubborn. Don’t be as your people were. Obey the Lord. Come to his temple. He has set it apart to himself forever. Serve the Lord your God. Then he’ll stop being angry with you.

Do not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

Don’t become obstinate now like your ancestors did. Give your allegiance to the LORD, and come to his sanctuary that he has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God so that he may turn his burning anger away from you,

Now do not stiffen your neck like your fathers, but yield to the Lord and enter His sanctuary which He has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that His burning anger may turn away from you.

Now do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord; and enter His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever, and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you.

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves unto Jehovah, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever, and serve Jehovah your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

Now, don’t be stubborn like your fathers! Submit to the LORD and come to his sanctuary which he has permanently consecrated. Serve the LORD your God so that he might relent from his raging anger.

Now don’t be stiff- necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve Yahweh your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

Then the Lord said,“ I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are.

But now I will make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us.

Therefore, change your hearts and stop being stubborn.

I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.

Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.

All the officials, the warriors, and the sons of King David pledged their loyalty to King Solomon.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord.Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.

But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

“ That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter.

“ You must not bring the prisoners here!” they declared.“ We cannot afford to add to our sins and guilt. Our guilt is already great, and the Lord’s fierce anger is already turned against Israel.”

You must fear the Lord your God and serve him. When you take an oath, you must use only his name.

He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, even though he had taken an oath of loyalty in God’s name. Zedekiah was a hard and stubborn man, refusing to turn to the Lord, the God of Israel.

Let Egypt come with gifts of precious metals; let Ethiopia bring tribute to God.

“ Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him.“ For the Scriptures say,‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

Listen to me and return these prisoners you have taken, for they are your own relatives. Watch out, because now the Lord’s fierce anger has been turned against you!”

Your procession has come into view, O God— the procession of my God and King as he goes into the sanctuary.

You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God— all the laws and decrees he has given you.

They vowed to divorce their wives, and they each acknowledged their guilt by offering a ram as a guilt offering.

But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.

Even so, the Lord was very angry with Judah because of all the wicked things Manasseh had done to provoke him.

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

For the Lord has chosen Jerusalem; he has desired it for his home.“ This is my resting place forever,” he said.“ I will live here, for this is the home I desired.

He loosed on them his fierce anger— all his fury, rage, and hostility. He dispatched against them a band of destroying angels.

But regarding Israel, God said,“ All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.”
