但祭司太少，不能剥尽所有燔祭牲的皮，所以他们的弟兄利未人帮助他们，直等献祭的事完毕，直到其他的祭司也分别为圣了；因利未人以正直的心分别为圣，胜过祭司。

约西亚从群畜中赐给所有在场的百姓，三万只小绵羊和小山羊，三千头牛，作逾越节的祭物；这些都是出自王的产业。约西亚的众领袖也乐意把祭牲给百姓、祭司和利未人；管理上帝殿的希勒家、撒迦利亚、耶歇，把二千六百只羔羊和三百头牛给祭司作逾越节的祭物。

所以有话说：“他升上高天的时候，掳掠了俘虏，将各样的恩赐赏给人。”

王的本分是在节期、初一、安息日，就是以色列家一切的盛会，奉上燔祭、素祭、浇酒祭。他要献上赎罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭，为以色列家赎罪。”

那时他们不能守，因为分别为圣的祭司不够，百姓也还没有聚集在耶路撒冷。

此外，因我爱慕我上帝的殿，在预备建造圣殿的一切材料之外，又将我自己积蓄的金银献给我上帝的殿，就是三千他连得俄斐金子、七千他连得纯银，用来贴殿的墙；金子做金器，银子做银器，并藉工匠的手做一切的工。今日有谁愿意将自己献给耶和华呢？”于是，众族长和以色列各支派的领袖、千夫长、百夫长，以及监管王工作的官长，都乐意奉献。他们为上帝殿的工程献上五千他连得又一万达利克金子，一万他连得银子，一万八千他连得铜，十万他连得铁。凡有宝石的都送入耶和华殿的库房，由革顺人耶歇的手管理。因这些人全心乐意献给耶和华，百姓就欢喜，大卫王也大大欢喜。
