“因你曾残暴地对待同胞兄弟雅各，你必蒙羞，永遭毁灭。外族人掠夺雅各的财物，攻入耶路撒冷抽签分赃时，你竟然袖手旁观，就像他们的同伙一样。你的亲族遭难之日，你不该幸灾乐祸；犹大人被灭的日子，你不该兴高采烈；他们遭难的日子，你不该口出狂言；我子民遭难的日子，你不该闯进他们的城；他们遭难的日子，你不该幸灾乐祸；他们遭难的日子，你不该趁火打劫；你不该站在路口截杀那些逃亡者；他们遭难的日子，你不该把幸存者交给仇敌。“耶和华惩罚万国的日子近了。必按你的所作所为报应你，你的恶行必落到自己头上。你们犹大人在我的圣山上怎样饱饮愤怒，万国也要照样饮，且要大口吞下，直到他们完全消逝。

耶和华向他们发怒，把他们交在美索不达米亚王古珊·利萨田的手中，受古珊·利萨田统治八年。

他对王说：“耶和华说，‘你放走了我决定要毁灭的人，所以你的命要抵他的命，你百姓的命要抵他百姓的命。’”

先知又来见以色列王，说：“你要加强防卫，做好准备，因为明年春天亚兰王必卷土重来。”

“人子啊，泰尔讥笑耶路撒冷说，‘哈哈！那通往列国的门户已遭破坏，城门向我大开，她已荒凉，我必兴盛。’所以主耶和华说，‘泰尔啊，我要跟你作对，我要激起多国来攻击你，就像大海掀起波浪一样。

耶和华说：“亚述王有祸了！他是我的愤怒之棍，他手中拿着我发烈怒的杖。我要差遣他去攻打一个不虔敬的国家，一个惹我发怒的民族，去抢夺、掳掠他们的财物，像践踏街上的泥土一样践踏他们。可是他却不这样想，心里也不这样盘算，他只想毁灭许多国家。

因为他们迫害你击打过的人，嘲笑你所打伤之人的痛苦。

我没有与作乐的人为伍，没有与他们同乐。你要我独坐一处，他们的罪恶使我怒气填胸。为什么我的痛楚无休无止？为什么我的创伤无法医治？难道你要像一条时断时流的小溪让我无法依靠吗？

犹大王约沙法平安地回到耶路撒冷的宫中。哈拿尼先见的儿子耶户出来迎接约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，爱那憎恨耶和华的人呢？你这样做已经惹怒耶和华了。

因此，耶和华向亚玛谢发怒，祂派一个先知去见他，说：“这些神明既然不能从你手中救自己的人民，你为什么还要祭拜它们呢？”先知的话还没有说完，王就打断他，说：“住口！谁立你做王的谋士了？你要自取灭亡吗？”先知停了一下，又说：“我知道上帝已定意要毁灭你，因为你做了这事，不听我的忠告。”

耶和华说：“你做了什么事？你弟弟的血从地里向我哭诉。

一位先知来见以色列王亚哈，说：“耶和华说，‘你看见这大队人马了吗？今天我必将他们交在你手里，这样你就知道我是耶和华。’”
