The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.

Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah and Amasa received the prisoners. From the goods that had been taken, they gave clothes to everyone who was naked. They gave them clothes, sandals, food, drink and healing lotion. They put all the weak people on donkeys. They took them back to their relatives at Jericho. Then they returned to Samaria. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees.

於是以法蓮人之中幾個為首的人、約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利未的兒子比利家、沙龍的兒子耶希西家、哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒、起來攔阻那從戰陣中回來的人，

若有一個弟兄或姐妹素常赤身裸體，又缺欠每日的食物，而你們中間卻有人對他們說：『你們安心去好啦；願你們穿得暖，喫得飽』，卻沒有給他們身體上所必需的，有甚麼益處呢？

在好行為上有聲譽的。這就是說，她若養育過兒女，若接待過旅客，若洗過聖徒的腳，若濟助過遭患難的人，若在各樣善行上緊密追求過。

不，『你的仇敵若餓了，你要分給他喫；若渴了，你要給他喝；因為你這樣行、就是把燒𤏲的炭堆在他頭上。』別為惡所勝了，總要以善勝惡。

耶穌一出來，上了岸，就有一個城裏的人、有鬼附着的、迎面而來。這個人好久不穿衣裳，不住房屋，只住在塋墓中間。

『對你們一般聽的人、我也說：要愛你們的仇敵，好待那恨惡你們的；

彼得就起身，和他們一同去；既已到了，人就領他上房頂屋子；眾寡婦都站在彼得旁邊哭，將多加同他們在一起時所作的裏衣外衣指給他看。

我們有能力的人呢、應該擔代沒有能力之人的脆弱顧忌，不應該逕求自己所喜歡的。

因為我餓了，你們給我喫；我渴了，你們給我喝；我做旅客，你們款接我；我赤着身子，你們給我穿；我病了，你們看望我；我在監裏，你們來看我。」那時義人必回答他說：「主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了供養你？或渴了給你喝？甚麼時候見你做旅客款接你？或赤着身子給你穿？又甚麼時候見你病了或在監裏來看你呢？』王必回答他們說：「我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既作在我這些弟兄中最小之一個的身上，就是作在我身上了。」那時王也必對那在左邊的說：「被咒詛的人哪，離開我，去進入那給魔鬼和他的使者所豫備的永世之火裏去。因為我餓了，你們沒有給我喫；我渴了，你們沒有給我喝；我做旅客，你們沒有款接我；我赤着身子，你們沒有給我穿；我病了，我在監裏，你們沒有看望我。」那時他們也必回答說：「主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了，或渴了，或做旅客，或赤着身子，或病了，或在監裏，沒有服事你呢？」那時他必回答他們說：「我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既沒有作在這些最小之一個的身上，也就是沒有作在我身上了。

眾人就出來，要看所發生的事；到了耶穌那裏，看見鬼所由出的那人穿着衣裳、神志清明、坐在耶穌腳旁，他們就害怕。

那造我於母腹的、不也是造他麼？那將吾人摶於母胎的、不是同一位麼？『我若將貧寒人所願望的留住不給，或是讓寡婦的眼渴望到失明，或是獨自喫我一點食物，並沒給孤兒和我同喫；（因為從我幼年時上帝也像父親一樣把我養大；自從出我母腹以來、他就領導我）；我若見將要死亡的人赤身無衣，或見貧窮的人毫無遮蓋，他若不由我的羊毛而得暖，而他內心若不向我祝福感恩，我在城門口若見有幫助我的，便動手攻擊孤兒，那我情願、肩頭從缺盆骨上脫落，膀臂從羊矢骨上折斷。因為上帝降的災難使我恐懼，他的尊嚴我當不起。

凡有人有世上養生之資，見他弟兄有缺乏，卻向他關閉着憐憫的心腸，愛上帝的心怎能存在他裏面呢？小子們，我們愛人、別只用話語了，也別只用舌頭了，卻要用行為和真實。
