Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Ahaz was 20 years old when he became king. He ruled in Jerusalem for 16 years. He didn’t do what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He didn’t do what King David had done.

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done,

哩馬利子比迦十七年、猶大王約擔子亞哈士即位。年二十在耶路撒冷為王、凡歷十六載、不行善於上帝耶和華前、不繩其祖大闢之武、從以色列列王所作、昔異邦之民、行可惡之事、焚獻其子、耶和華當以色列族前逐之、今亞哈士乃效其尤、亦獻祭焚香於崇坵、在高岡之巔、茂林之下。是時亞蘭王哩汛、及以色列王、哩馬利子比迦、咸來圍耶路撒冷、攻亞哈士、不能取勝。亞蘭王哩汛恢復以辣、驅猶大人出、使亞蘭人居之、迄今猶在。亞哈士遣人至亞述王滴臘比利斯曰、我乃爾之子臣、亞蘭王及以色列王攻我、請爾至此、援我於其手。亞哈士以耶和華殿、及王宮府庫、所有之金銀、饋於亞述王。亞述王允所請、往攻大馬色、而陷其城、殺哩汛、虜其民人至吉。亞哈士王詣大馬色、而迓亞述王滴臘比利斯、在彼見祭壇、遂圖其壇之規模制度、遣人持至祭司烏哩亞所、祭司烏哩亞作壇、循亞哈士、自大馬色、所賚之圖而造、王未旋歸、壇已告成。王自大馬色至、見壇、近前獻祭、焚其燔祭禮物、酒以灌奠、以酬恩祭牲之血、灑於壇上。昔耶和華殿前、銅壇在焉、新壇既造、銅壇間之、故亞哈士移置新壇之北。命祭司烏哩亞曰、朝之燔祭、夕之禮物、王與兆民所獻之燔祭禮物、酒以灌奠、俱必獻於大壇、燔祭及禮物之血灑於其上、惟此銅壇、我用以諮諏上帝。祭司烏哩亞遵命而行。亞哈士王斷盆座之旁、移盆離座。昔巨盤置於銅牛之上亞哈士移置鋪華石處。昔殿前有棚、為安息日所用、與王自外入殿之廊、亞哈士俱取其材、離耶和華殿、以饋亞述王。亞哈士事實、備載於猶大列王紀畧。亞哈士既薨、與列祖同葬於大闢之城、子希西家繼位。

約沙法效祖大闢善行、宗事上帝、遵從厥命、不蹈以色列族之愆尤、而崇巴力、故蒙耶和華祐。

當猶大王烏西亞孫、約擔子亞哈士、時亞蘭王哩汛、以色列王哩馬利子比迦、咸至耶路撒冷、攻城不下。或告大闢族曰、亞蘭人、與以法蓮人、結為黨援、大闢族聞之、君民震慴、心搖搖如風木、耶和華諭以賽亞曰、漂工有田、田間有道、近上沼之溝、爾與爾子謝雅述往彼、以迓亞哈士、告之曰哩汛率亞蘭人、與哩馬利子相會、其怒雖烈、不過二火炬之餘燼、僅有微烟、爾勿畏葸、勿喪膽、可安爾心、亞蘭王與以法蓮王、哩馬利子謀攻爾曰、我儕往攻猶大、使其恐懼、奪其土地、立大庇押子為王、然我耶和華云、此謀必不成、亞蘭以大馬色為都、大馬色以哩汛為王、以法蓮以撒馬利亞為都、撒馬利亞以哩馬利子為王、未及六十五載、以法蓮族必敗、國不成國、如爾不信、亦弗能恆存。
