希西家不酬斯恩、中心驕泰、於是干上帝震怒、降災於猶大族、耶路撒冷民、

今王既擊以東人、中心驕奢、深居九重、亦可已矣。何為自取其禍、欲與猶大族偕亡。

心驕志肆、終必隕越。

恐爾意謂由己力己能、獲此貨財。

自高不安其心、義人以信得生、

恐爾驕奢、忘爾之上帝耶和華、昔導爾出埃及、脫爾於賤役、

勿以爾之賞、見奪於人、彼以謙卑自稱、效天使崇拜、欲窺無形、私心自衒、

利未支派、哥轄孫、以斯哈子哥喇、流便支派、以利押二子、大單亞庇蘭、比勒子安、

今王既擊以東人、中心驕奢、以此為榮、深居九重、亦可已矣。何為自取其禍、欲與猶大族偕亡乎。

置於崇邱、田畝所產使食之、巖穴出蜜使哺之、堅石出膏使沃之、牛酥羊酪、羔羊之膋、牡山羊、牡綿羊、俱由巴山而至、以給其用、至嘉之麥粉使食、葡萄之清汁使飲、耶書崙體胖、桀驁不馴、肥而多脂、上帝造之、彼反違逆、上帝拯之、彼反藐視。

既從己意、八月之望定節期、使以色列族恪守、則在是月、於伯特利所作之壇、獻祭焚香。時值耶羅破暗侍於壇側、方欲焚香、有上帝之僕、奉耶和華命、自猶大至伯特利、指壇而呼曰、嗟乎此壇、耶和華有命云、大闢之家必挺生一子、名約西亞、取崇邱之祭司、焚香於是壇者、獻於壇上、亦取死者之骨、焚於此壇。上帝之僕預言異跡曰、此壇必裂、其灰盡傾、是耶和華所預言之異跡。耶羅破暗王、聞上帝之僕、叱咤伯特利之壇、則伸其手曰、當執之、所伸之手、即枯不能縮。

遂各執鼎、燃火炷香、與摩西亞倫立於會幕前。

耶和華使火出、燬其焚香者、二百五十人。○

明晨燃火置香、奉耶和華、而耶和華所簡者、即以為聖、汝利未族妄自矜大。

王自大馬色至、見壇、近前獻祭、焚其燔祭禮物、酒以灌奠、以酬恩祭牲之血、灑於壇上。
