約阿施的臣僕起來背叛，在下到悉拉路上的米羅宮那裏把他殺了。殺他的臣僕就是示米押的兒子約撒拔和朔默的兒子約薩拔。他與祖先同葬在大衛城，他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。

因他們曾流過聖徒與先知的血，現在你給他們血喝，這是他們該受的。」

耶和華激發非利士人和靠近古實人的阿拉伯人的心來攻擊約蘭。

眾人把他與列王同葬在大衛城，因為他在以色列中為神和他的殿做了美善的事。

他回到耶斯列，醫治在拉末與亞蘭王哈薛打仗時被擊打所受的傷。約蘭的兒子猶大王亞哈謝因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列看望他。

耶路撒冷有人背叛亞瑪謝，亞瑪謝逃往拉吉；他們卻派人追到拉吉，在那裏殺了他。有人用馬將他馱回，葬在耶路撒冷，與他祖先一同葬在大衛城。

你已經察看，顧念人的憂患和愁苦，放在你的手中。無倚無靠的人把自己交託給你，你向來是幫助孤兒的。

這一切事以後，耶和華擊打約蘭，使他的腸子患不能醫治的病。這病纏綿日久，過了二年，腸子墜落下來，他就病重而死。他的百姓沒有為他生火誌哀，像從前為他祖先生火一樣。約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。他逝世無人思慕，眾人把他葬在大衛城，只是不在列王的墳墓裏。
