因為他們曾流聖徒和先知的血，現在你給他們血喝，這是他們該受的。”

後來，耶和華激動了非利士人和靠近古實的阿拉伯人的心，和約蘭作對。

他和列王一同埋葬在大衛城裡，因為他在以色列為神和神的殿作了美善的事。

於是約蘭回到耶斯列去，醫治他在拉末和亞蘭王交戰的時候所受的傷。猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝，(“亞哈謝”：多數希伯來文抄本作“亞撒利雅”，可能是抄寫之誤或“亞哈謝”的另一種寫法；現根據各古譯本、十多份希伯來文抄本及王下8:29翻譯)，因亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列去看他。

在耶路撒冷有人陰謀反叛他，他就逃到拉吉去。他們派人跟蹤他到拉吉，就在那裡把他殺死了。他們把他的屍首馱在馬背上運回來，葬在耶路撒冷，在大衛的城裡，和他的祖先在一起。

其實你已經看見了，憂患與愁苦你都已經看到，並且放在自己的手中；不幸的人把自己交託你；你是幫助孤兒的。

這些事以後，耶和華擊打約蘭，使他的腸臟患了不治之症。他病了很久。過了二年，他的腸子因病重流了出來，他就病死了；他的人民沒有為他燒火，好像從前為他的列祖燒火一樣。約蘭登基的時候是三十二歲；他在耶路撒冷作王共八年；他離世的時候，沒有人哀悼他。人把他埋葬在大衛城裡，可是沒有葬在眾王的陵墓裡。
