現在，君王啊！你們要謹慎。地上的審判官啊！你們應當聽勸告。你們要以敬畏的態度事奉耶和華，又應當存戰兢的心而歡呼。

耶何耶大死後，猶大的領袖們來朝拜王；王聽從了他們的主意。他們離棄了耶和華他們列祖的神的殿，去事奉亞舍拉和偶像。因為他們的罪，神的忿怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷。

等到他們失足的時候，我要伸冤報應；因為他們遭遇災難的日子近了，那預備要臨到他們身上的事，必快快臨到。

我曾說過：“你們都是神，是至高者的兒子。然而，你們要像世人一樣死亡，像世上任何一位領袖一樣倒斃。”

那先知前來見以色列王，對他說：“你要自強，留意看看你所要預備的，因為明年春天亞蘭王必再上來攻擊你。”

義人看見仇敵遭報就歡喜；他要在惡人的血中洗自己的腳。因此，人必說：“義人果然有善報；在世上確有一位施行審判的神。”

過了年，便．哈達數點了亞蘭人，就上到亞弗去，要與以色列人爭戰。
