King Joash did not remember the kindness Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had shown him but killed his son, who said as he lay dying,“ May the Lord see this and call you to account.”

King Joash didn’t remember how kind Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had been to him. So he killed Jehoiada’s son. As Zechariah was dying he said,“ May the Lord see this. May he hold you responsible.”

Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said,“ May the Lord see and avenge!”

That was how King Joash repaid Jehoiada for his loyalty— by killing his son. Zechariah’s last words as he died were,“ May the Lord see what they are doing and avenge my death!”

Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said,“ May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”

流你們血、害你們命的，我必向他追討；我要向一切走獸追討，向人和向人的弟兄追討人命。

以惡報善的，禍患必不離他的家。

我初次上訴時，沒有人前來幫助，竟都離棄了我，但願這罪不歸在他們身上。

羔羊揭開第五個印的時候，我看見在祭壇底下有曾為神的道，並為作見證而被殺的人的靈魂，大聲喊着說：「神聖真實的主宰啊，你不審判住在地上的人，為我們所流的血伸冤，要到幾時呢？」於是有白袍賜給他們各人；又有話吩咐他們還要歇息片刻，等到與他們同作僕人的，和他們的弟兄，像他們一樣被殺的人的數目湊足的時候。

銅匠亞歷山大多方害我；主必照他所行的報應他。

他的判斷又真實又公義；因他判斷了那大淫婦，她用淫行敗壞了世界。神為他的僕人伸冤，向淫婦討流僕人血的罪。」

按公義判斷、察驗人肺腑心腸的萬軍之耶和華啊，求你使我得見你在他們身上報仇，因我已將我的案件向你稟明了。

天哪，眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊！你們都要因她歡喜，因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。」

耶穌回應他們：「我做了許多從父那裏來的善事給你們看，你們是為哪一件拿石頭打我呢？」

你已經察看，顧念人的憂患和愁苦，放在你的手中。無倚無靠的人把自己交託給你，你向來是幫助孤兒的。

這是行毀滅的臨到巴比倫。巴比倫的勇士被捉住，他們的弓折斷了；因為耶和華是施行報應的神，他必施行報應。

就是從亞伯的血起，直到被殺在祭壇和聖所中間的撒迦利亞的血為止。是的，我告訴你們，這都要向這世代的人追討。

其中有一個見自己已經好了，就回來大聲歸榮耀給神，又俯伏在耶穌腳前感謝他。這人是撒瑪利亞人。耶穌回答說：「潔淨了的不是十個人嗎？那九個在哪裏呢？除了這外族人，再沒有別人回來歸榮耀給神嗎？」

至於我，看哪，我在你們手中，你們眼裏看甚麼是好的，是正確的，就那樣待我吧！但你們要確實知道，你們若把我處死，就使流無辜人血的罪歸給你們和這城，以及城裏的居民了；因為耶和華確實差遣我到你們這裏來，將這一切話傳到你們耳中。」

他們與我作對回報我的愛，但我專心祈禱。
