偶像必全然廢棄。

又拆毀祭壇，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。

眾人在他面前拆毀巴力的壇，砍斷壇上高高的日像，又把木偶和雕刻的像，並鑄造的像打碎成灰，撒在祭偶像人的墳上，

那先知或是那做夢的既用言語叛逆那領你們出埃及地、救贖你脫離為奴之家的耶和華－你們的神，要勾引你離開耶和華－你神所吩咐你行的道，你便要將他治死。這樣，就把那惡從你們中間除掉。「你的同胞弟兄，或是你的兒女，或是你懷中的妻，或是如同你性命的朋友，若暗中引誘你，說：『我們不如去事奉你和你列祖素來所不認識的別神－是你四圍列國的神。』無論是離你近，離你遠，從地這邊到地那邊的神，你不可依從他，也不可聽從他，眼不可顧惜他。你不可憐恤他，也不可遮庇他，總要殺他；你先下手，然後眾民也下手，將他治死。

耶戶獻完了燔祭，就出來吩咐護衛兵和眾軍長說：「你們進去殺他們，不容一人出來！」護衛兵和軍長就用刀殺他們，將屍首拋出去，便到巴力廟的城去了，將巴力廟中的柱像都拿出來燒了；毀壞了巴力柱像，拆毀了巴力廟作為廁所，直到今日。這樣，耶戶在以色列中滅了巴力。

萬軍之耶和華說：「那日，我必從地上除滅偶像的名，不再被人記念；也必使這地不再有假先知與污穢的靈。若再有人說預言，生他的父母必對他說：『你不得存活，因為你託耶和華的名說假預言。』生他的父母在他說預言的時候，要將他刺透。

他廢去邱壇，毀壞柱像，砍下木偶，打碎摩西所造的銅蛇，因為到那時以色列人仍向銅蛇燒香。希西家叫銅蛇為銅塊。

也要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，用火焚燒他們的木偶，砍下他們雕刻的神像，並將其名從那地方除滅。
