不从恶人的计谋，不与罪人为伍，不和轻慢上帝的人同流合污，只喜爱耶和华的律法，昼夜默诵，这样的人有福了！

战车长看见约沙法，以为他就是以色列王，便转身攻击他。约沙法高声喊叫，耶和华上帝就帮助他，使敌人离开他。

“伯沙撒啊，你是他的后裔，你虽然知道这一切事，仍不谦卑，

以色列王对臣仆说：“你们都知道基列的拉末是我们的领土，我们岂能坐视不理，不从亚兰王手中夺回来呢？”

哈拿尼先见的儿子耶户出来迎接约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，爱那憎恨耶和华的人呢？你这样做已经惹怒耶和华了。

他联合亚哈的儿子约兰到基列的拉末与亚兰王哈薛交战。约兰受了伤，便回到耶斯列疗伤。犹大王亚哈谢前去探望。

因为你遵守暗利的恶规，效法亚哈家的恶行，随从他们的计谋，所以我要使你荒凉，让你的居民成为笑柄。你们要蒙受列国的羞辱。”

哈薛用四十头骆驼驮着大马士革的各种美物前去拜见以利沙。到了那里，他站在以利沙面前说：“你儿子亚兰王便·哈达派我来问你，他的病能否痊愈？”

以色列王亚哈对犹大王约沙法说：“你愿意与我一起去攻打基列的拉末吗？”约沙法回答说：“你我不分彼此，我的民就是你的民，我必与你同去。”
