從神言人以利亞那裏有信來給約蘭、說：『永恆主你祖大衛的上帝這麼說：「因為你沒有走你父親約沙法的路，也沒有走猶大王亞撒的路，

有先知以利亞之書至曰、爾祖大衛之上帝耶和華云、因爾不循爾父約沙法、與猶大王亞撒之道、

或以先知以利亞書、陳於王、書畧曰、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、因爾不從猶大王亞撒、及父約沙法之道、

先知以利亞遺書約蘭曰、主爾祖大衛之天主如是云、爾不行爾父約沙法之道、與猶大王亞撒之道、

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says:‘ You have not followed the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah.

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet. In it, Elijah said,“ The Lord is the God of your father David. The Lord says,‘ You have not followed the ways of your own father Jehoshaphat or of Asa, the king of Judah.

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then Elijah the prophet wrote Jehoram this letter:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: You have not followed the good example of your father, Jehoshaphat, or your grandfather King Asa of Judah.

Then a letter came to Jehoram from the prophet Elijah, saying: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of King Asa of Judah

Then a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ This is what the Lord, the God of your father David says:‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat and the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the Lord God of your father David: Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, saying: This is what Yahweh, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of Asa king of Judah

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Jehoram received this letter from Elijah the prophet:“ This is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says:‘ You have not followed in the footsteps of your father Jehoshaphat and of King Asa of Judah,

A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Yahweh, the God of David your father, says,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

耶和華與約沙法同在，因為他行他祖先大衛從前所行的道，不去尋求諸巴力，只尋求他父親的上帝，遵行他的誡命，不效法以色列人的行為。

亞撒行耶和華－他上帝眼中看為善為正的事，除掉外邦的祭壇和丘壇，打碎柱像，砍下亞舍拉，吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華－他們列祖的上帝，遵行他的律法和誡命，又在猶大各城鎮除掉丘壇和香壇。在他治理下，國中太平。

耶和華要用旋風接以利亞升天的時候，以利亞與以利沙從吉甲往前行。

亞撒效法他的高祖父大衛行耶和華眼中看為正的事，

他們邊走邊說話的時候，看哪，有火馬和火焰車出現，把二人隔開，以利亞就乘旋風升天去了。

「所寫的文字是：『彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。』解釋是這樣：彌尼就是上帝數算你國的年日到此完畢。提客勒就是你被秤在天平上，秤出你的虧欠來。毗勒斯就是你的國要分裂，歸給瑪代人和波斯人。」於是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鏈給他戴在頸項上，又傳令使他在國中位列第三。

猶底念了三、四段，王就用文士的刀把書卷割破，丟在火盆裏，直到全卷在火中燒盡了。

約沙法效法他父親亞撒所行的道，不偏離左右，行耶和華眼中看為正的事。只是丘壇還沒有廢去，百姓仍在那裏獻祭燒香。

當時，忽然有人的指頭出現，在燈臺對面王宮粉刷的牆上寫字。王看見寫字的指頭，

「你要取一書卷，把我對你所說攻擊以色列和猶大，並各國的一切話，從我對你說話的那日，就是從約西亞的日子起直到今日，都寫在其上；

「你再取一書卷，將猶大王約雅敬所燒前一卷書上原有的一切話寫在上面。論到猶大王約雅敬你要說，耶和華如此說：你燒了這書卷，說：『你為甚麼在上面寫着，巴比倫王必要來毀滅這地，使這地絕了人民和牲畜呢？』所以耶和華論到猶大王約雅敬說：他後裔中必沒有人坐在大衛的寶座上；他的屍首必被拋棄，白天受炎熱，黑夜受寒霜。我必因他和他後裔，並他臣僕的罪孽懲罰他們。我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到他們和耶路撒冷的居民，並猶大人；只是他們不肯聽從。」於是，耶利米又取一書卷交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄文士，他就從耶利米的口中寫了猶大王約雅敬在火中所燒書卷上的一切話，另外又添了許多相仿的話。

我觀看，看哪，有一隻手向我伸來；看哪，手中有一書卷。他在我面前展開書卷，它內外都寫着字，上面所寫的有哀號、嘆息、悲痛的話。
