He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat followed the ways of his father Asa. He didn’t wander away from them. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat was a good king, following the ways of his father, Asa. He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.

He walked in the ways of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the LORD’s sight.

He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not deviate from it, doing right in the sight of the Lord.

And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

他口中的言語盡是罪孽詭詐，他不再有智慧，也不再行善。

耶和華與約沙法同在，因為他行他祖先大衛從前所行的道，不去尋求諸巴力，只尋求他父親的上帝，遵行他的誡命，不效法以色列人的行為。所以耶和華堅定約沙法手中的國，猶大眾人給他進貢；約沙法大有財富和尊榮。他樂意遵行耶和華的道，並且從猶大再次除掉一切丘壇和亞舍拉。

亞撒效法他的高祖父大衛行耶和華眼中看為正的事，

亞撒呼求耶和華－他的上帝說：「耶和華啊，在強弱之間，惟有你能幫助。耶和華－我們的上帝啊，求你幫助我們，因為我們仰賴你，奉你的名來抵擋這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的上帝，不要讓人勝過你。」於是耶和華擊打古實人，使他們敗在亞撒和猶大人面前，古實人就逃跑了。亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的很多，無法復原，因為他們在耶和華與他軍兵面前被擊潰。猶大人奪了許多財物，

因為我遵守耶和華的道，未曾作惡離開我的上帝。

那時，哈拿尼先見來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：「因你仰賴亞蘭王，沒有仰賴耶和華－你的上帝，所以亞蘭王的軍兵逃脫了你的手。古實人和路比人的軍隊不是非常強大嗎？他們的戰車騎兵不是極多嗎？只因你仰賴耶和華，他就將他們交在你手裏。因為耶和華的眼目遍察全地，要堅固向他存純正之心的人。你在這事上行得愚昧；因此，以後你必有戰爭。」亞撒惱恨先見，為了這事向他發怒，將他囚在監裏。那時亞撒也虐待一些百姓。亞撒自始至終的事蹟，看哪，都寫在《猶大和以色列諸王記》上。亞撒作王三十九年的時候患了腳疾，非常嚴重。他生病的時候沒有求耶和華，只求醫生。

亞撒行耶和華－他上帝眼中看為善為正的事，除掉外邦的祭壇和丘壇，打碎柱像，砍下亞舍拉，吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華－他們列祖的上帝，遵行他的律法和誡命，又在猶大各城鎮除掉丘壇和香壇。在他治理下，國中太平。
