耶和華在埃及中摻入了歪謬的靈，首領們就使埃及在一切所做的事上都迷失，好像醉酒的人嘔吐時搖晃迷糊。

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，

不過聖靈明確地說，在末後的時代有些人會離開這信仰，聽從迷惑人的邪靈和鬼魔的教義。這些教義出於說謊之人的偽善，這些人的良心已經麻木了。

為什麼呢？難道因為我不愛你們嗎？神是知道的！我現在所做的，將來還要做，為要斷絕那些人的機會——他們想找一個機會，好讓別人以為他們所誇耀的與我們一樣，因為這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，他們裝做基督的使徒。

因為假基督們和假先知們會出現，行大神蹟和奇事，如果有可能，甚至迷惑那些蒙揀選的人。看哪，我已經預先告訴你們了！

惡人卻有禍了，他們必遭災難，因為他們手所做的必回報到自己身上。

耶穌對他們說：「是你們十二使徒中的一個。他正與我一同在盤子裡蘸餅。人子確實要離去，正如經上指著他所寫的，但是出賣人子的那個人有禍了。對他來說，沒有出生倒好。」
