All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.

All those who wouldn’t obey the Lord, the God of Israel, would be killed. It wouldn’t matter how important they were. It wouldn’t matter whether they were men or women.

but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.

They agreed that anyone who refused to seek the Lord, the God of Israel, would be put to death— whether young or old, man or woman.

Whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel would be put to death, young or old, man or woman.

「祭拜耶和華以外的其他任何神明的人，必須被處死。

耶和華要賜福給一切敬畏祂的人，不分尊貴卑賤。

以利亞對他們說：「抓住巴力的先知，別放走一個人！」眾人就抓住他們，以利亞把他們帶到基順河邊，在那裡殺了他們。

必須處死那些先知或解夢的人，因為他們慫恿你們背叛你們的上帝耶和華、偏離祂吩咐你們當走的道路。你們的上帝耶和華曾帶你們離開埃及，救你們脫離奴役。你們必須清除你們當中的邪惡。「如果你們的兄弟、兒女、愛妻或摯友引誘你們去拜你們和你們祖先都不認識的神明，引誘你們去拜你們周圍各族的神明，或在附近或遠在天邊，你們不可遷就、聽從他們，不可憐惜他們，不可放過或包庇他們。必須處死他們。你們要首先下手，然後眾人一起打死他們。你們要用石頭打死他們，因為他們企圖使你們背棄你們的上帝耶和華，祂曾把你們從受奴役之地——埃及領出來。這樣，所有以色列人聽了就會害怕，必無人再敢做這種惡事。「在你們的上帝耶和華將要賜給你們居住的各城中，如果你們聽說某城裡有惡人引誘城中的居民偏離正路，唆使他們去供奉你們不認識的神明，

你們中間，不論男人或女人，家族或支派，切不可有人背棄我們的上帝耶和華，去祭拜列國的神明，免得你們中間有殘根長出苦毒的果實，

「如果有人在你們的上帝耶和華將要賜給你們的各城鎮做祂視為惡的事，違背祂的約，不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，你們得知後，必須徹底調查。如果屬實，在以色列確實有人做這種可憎之事，就要把那人帶到城門口，用石頭打死他。

然而，我靠著上帝的幫助，到今天還能站在這裡向所有尊卑老幼做見證。我講的不外乎眾先知和摩西說過要發生的事，

我又看見死去的人，不論尊卑老少，都站在寶座前面。案卷都展開了，另有一卷，就是生命冊也打開了。死去的人都要憑案卷中有關他們行為的記錄受審判。

祂不偏袒王侯，也不輕貧重富，因為他們都是祂親手造的。

到了半夜，耶和華把所有埃及人的長子都殺了，包括坐王位的法老的長子、牢中囚犯的長子和一切頭生的牲畜。

尊貴與卑賤的人都在那裡，奴僕不再受主人的轄制。

並讓門外的人，不論老少都眼目昏花，摸來摸去也找不著羅得家的門。

地上的君王、顯貴、將領、富豪、有勢力的、一切奴隸和自由人都躲藏在山洞裡和岩穴間。
