Judah turned and saw that they were being attacked at both front and rear. Then they cried out to the Lord. The priests blew their trumpets

籲上帝耶和華曰、爾欲援我、民之多寡、力之強弱、無不可以之克敵、我之上帝耶和華歟、求爾助我、蓋我賴爾名、禦斯有眾、願上帝耶和華、毋許人勝爾。

埃人遙瞻其邑、烟燄沖天、亟欲逃遁、迷於所往、以色列族之先奔者轉攻其敵。

車騎之長見約沙法、則曰、彼以色列王也。遂環而攻之。約沙法大聲而呼、耶和華上帝祐之、敵乃去、

時以色列族離其所、列陳於巴力大馬伏者盡出、自其庇亞平原而來。以色列族簡卒一萬、攻其庇亞、彼此鏖戰、然便雅憫族不知禍已近矣。是日耶和華助以色列族、擊便雅憫族、殺其軍旅、計二萬五千一百人。於是便雅憫族為以色列族所敗、初以色列族恃其庇亞之旁、預有伏兵、故暫避之、所伏之眾馳驟而出、整列行伍、攻其庇亞、擊之以刃。以色列族與伏兵、以邑中烟焰上騰為約。以色列族初戰時稍卻、便雅憫族自謂以色列族為己所敗、亦猶前日、故殺以色列族、約三十人、忽邑中烟焰驟起、其狀如柱、便雅憫族回顧、邑中火焰上騰。以色列族旋轅之時、便雅憫族見禍已逼、恐懼特甚、於以色列族前全軍敗績、望野而遁、以色列族追及之、四周之民各自邑出、夾而攻之、盡殺其眾。襲便雅憫族、環其四周、在其庇亞相向、日出之處、蹂躪其民、甚為易事。

患難之際、禱告於我、我爾援、爾我頌兮、

亞捫族出、陳列行伍、在邑門前。鎖巴哩合之亞蘭人、及奪地人、與馬迦僕從、別列其陳、在曠野之所。約押見敵、前後列陳以攻、則簡以色列精銳之卒、陳列行伍、攻擊亞蘭人、以餘軍付於弟亞庇篩、使陳列行伍、攻亞捫族、曰、如亞蘭人強於我、爾必助我、如亞捫族強於爾、我必助爾。宜強乃志、為我民及為我上帝之眾邑戰、願耶和華任意以行。約押率軍前往、攻亞蘭人、使其敗北。亞捫族見亞蘭人潰而奔、則亦遁逃、避亞庇篩、入於邑中。約押不攻亞捫族、而歸耶路撒冷。

夕有患難、晝有流矢、中宵遘疾疫、亭午逢喪敗、爾俱無所畏兮、
