When the LORD saw that they had humbled themselves, the LORD’s message came to Shemaiah:“ They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them but will grant them a little deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.

When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah:“ Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.

The Lord saw they had made themselves humble. So he gave a message to Shemaiah. The Lord said,“ They have made themselves humble in my sight. So I will not destroy them. Instead, I will soon save them. Even though I am very angry with Jerusalem, I will not use Shishak to destroy them.

When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah:“ They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

When the Lord saw their change of heart, he gave this message to Shemaiah:“ Since the people have humbled themselves, I will not completely destroy them and will soon give them some relief. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem.

When Yahweh saw that they humbled themselves, Yahweh’s word came to Shemaiah, saying,“ They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath won’t be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

because they have abandoned me and burned incense to other gods so as to anger me with all the works of their hands. My wrath will be poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!”So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

The first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and severely painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped its image.The second poured out his bowl into the sea. It turned to blood like that of a dead person, and all life in the sea died.The third poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.I heard the angel of the waters say, You are just, the Holy One, who is and who was, because you have passed judgment on these things.Because they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, you have given them blood to drink; they deserve it!I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and just are your judgments.The fourth poured out his bowl on the sun. It was allowed to scorch people with fire,and people were scorched by the intense heat. So they blasphemed the name of God, who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory.The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues because of their painand blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they did not repent of their works.The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east.Then I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming from the dragon’s mouth, from the beast’s mouth, and from the mouth of the false prophet.For they are demonic spirits performing signs, who travel to the kings of the whole world to assemble them for the battle on the great day of God, the Almighty.“ Look, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who is alert and remains clothed so that he may not go around naked and people see his shame.”So they assembled the kings at the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.Then the seventh poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying,“ It is done!”

Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,

The LORD relented concerning this.“ This will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.He showed me this: The Lord was standing there by a vertical wall with a plumb line in his hand.The LORD asked me,“ What do you see, Amos?” I replied,“ A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,“ I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will no longer spare them:

but the LORD was gracious to them, had compassion on them, and turned toward them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He was not willing to destroy them. Even now he has not banished them from his presence.

I’ll get up, go to my father, and say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.I’m no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired workers.”’So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him.The son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“ Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for those remaining in Israel and Judah, concerning the words of the book that was found. For great is the LORD’s wrath that is poured out on us because our ancestors have not kept the word of the LORD in order to do everything written in this book.”

Only acknowledge your guilt— you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You have scattered your favors to strangers under every green tree and have not obeyed me. This is the LORD’s declaration.

Then Jehoahaz sought the LORD’s favor, and the LORD heard him, for he saw the oppression the king of Aram inflicted on Israel.Therefore, the LORD gave Israel a deliverer, and they escaped from the power of the Arameans. Then the people of Israel returned to their former way of life,but they didn’t turn away from the sins that the house of Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit. Jehoahaz continued them, and the Asherah pole also remained standing in Samaria.Jehoahaz did not have an army left, except for fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand foot soldiers, because the king of Aram had destroyed them, making them like dust at threshing.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says:“ Look, my anger— my burning wrath— is about to be poured out on this place, on people and animals, on the tree of the field, and on the produce of the land. My wrath will burn and not be quenched.”

Yet he was compassionate; he atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them. He often turned his anger aside and did not unleash all his wrath.

and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies— and when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they make amends for their iniquity,then I will remember my covenant with Jacob. I will also remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

So he poured out his furious anger and the power of war on Jacob. It surrounded him with fire, but he did not know it; it burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.

he will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, which is poured full strength into the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb,

Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite:“ Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? I will not bring the disaster during his lifetime, because he has humbled himself before me. I will bring the disaster on his house during his son’s lifetime.”
