Sons were born to David in Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;and his second, Chileab, by Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur;and the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;and the sixth, Ithream, by David’s wife Eglah. These sons were born to David in Hebron.

There are sixty queens and eighty concubines, And young women without number;But my dove, my perfect one, is unique: She is her mother’s only daughter; She is the pure child of the one who gave birth to her. The young women saw her and called her blessed, The queens and the concubines also, and they praised her, saying,

He had seven hundred wives, who were princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned his heart away.

Meanwhile David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.

Now these were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second was Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelitess;the third was Absalom the son of Maacah, the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth was Adonijah the son of Haggith;the fifth was Shephatiah, by Abital; the sixth was Ithream, by his wife Eglah.Six were born to him in Hebron, and he reigned there for seven years and six months. And in Jerusalem he reigned for thirty three years.These were the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, four by Bath shua the daughter of Ammiel;and Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine.All of these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines; and Tamar was their sister.

He acted wisely and distributed some of his sons through all the territories of Judah and Benjamin to all the fortified cities, and he gave them plenty of provisions. And he sought many wives for them.

Now Gideon had seventy sons who were his direct descendants, for he had many wives.
