So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.

So the king didn’t listen to the people. That’s because God had planned it that way. What the Lord had said through Ahijah came true. Ahijah had spoken the Lord’ s message to Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Ahijah was from Shiloh.

So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of affairs brought about by God that the Lord might fulfill his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the Lord’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.

人若相犯、士師折中、若犯耶和華、誰代之祈。二子不聽父言、耶和華決意殺之。

言時、王阻之、曰、爾非言官、諫我奚為、獨不畏罪乎。先知不敢復諫、曰、爾弗聽從、我知上帝必敗爾。猶大王亞馬謝、與群臣謀、遣使至以色列王耶戶之孫約哈斯子約轄、曰、汝來以決一戰。以色列王約轄曰利巴嫩有荊棘、謂柏香木云、當以爾女妻我子。猝有獸過、荊棘為其蹂躪。今王既擊以東人、中心驕奢、深居九重、亦可已矣。何為自取其禍、欲與猶大族偕亡。亞馬謝之弗聽、皆出上帝意、因彼宗事以東人上帝、將使彼為敵所敗。

適耶羅破暗衣新製之服、自耶路撒冷出時、先知者示羅人亞希雅遇諸塗、無人在側。亞希雅取耶羅破暗所衣之新服、裂成十有二方、告之曰、爾必取十方、蓋以色列族上帝耶和華曰、我將分裂以色列國、奪於所羅門手、畀爾十支派、緣我僕大闢、又緣我所簡之耶路撒冷、在以色列族中者、我必以一支派予大闢後裔。所羅門與其家、背逆乎我、崇拜西頓人之上帝亞大綠、摩押人之上帝基抹、亞捫人之上帝密君、不從我道、不行善於我前、不守我禮儀法度、不於其父大闢是則是效、故必奪其國祚、然不奪其全土、必使之為王以畢其生、緣我所簡之僕大闢、恪守我禁令法度故也。乃必奪國祚於所羅門子、以十支派予爾、遺一支派予彼、使我僕大闢歷世有光、於我所簡之耶路撒冷、為籲我名之所。我將以爾為王、任爾所欲、治以色列族、如爾聽從我命、行由我道、作善於我前、守我禁令禮儀、效我僕大闢所為、則我必祐爾、鞏固爾國、與大闢無異、以以色列族畀爾治之。我雖使大闢後裔困苦、不至歷年甚久。

此人也、上帝定旨、敕命解之、爾曹果以不義之手、取而釘之死、

耶和華賦埃及以昏昧之心、使之行事舛錯、若醉者哇吐、跬步不能自主。

先知拿單之書、示羅人亞希雅先知之書、與先見者易多、責尼八子耶羅破暗之書、載所羅門事特詳。

耶和華曰、誰能誘亞哈、使往基列之喇末、殞沒其命。眾天使所陳之詞不一。

王不順輿情、乃耶和華使之、以應所命示羅人、亞希雅告尼八子耶羅破暗之言。

蓋是時以色列族為非利士人所轄、參孫父母不知斯事由於耶和華、使參孫與非利士人生其釁隙。

以成爾權、爾旨預定之事、

時我上帝耶和華聽希實本王西宏剛愎厥心、不容我過其地、為我所敗、以今日之事為證。

雖行異跡於眾前、若此之多、人猶不信之、如是、應先知以賽亞言云、主、我所傳聞、篤信者誰、主之大力、誠服者誰、眾不之信、

故以色列族之聖主告爾曰、爾棄斯道、強暴妄作、以此自恃。故爾罪戾必若將傾之垣、欲覆之壁、忽然毀圮、

士卒至、將同釘者、一一折脛、及耶穌、見其已死、不折、一卒以戈刺其脅、血水俱出、見者為證、其證真、自知言真、使爾曹信也、此事成、則經言其骨不折、

士卒相語曰、勿裂之、鬮觀誰得、經云、分我外服、鬮我裏衣、應矣、士卒所為者如是也、○

耶和華云、此我所使、爾毋往與同族兄弟以色列族戰、各歸故土。民從耶和華命而歸。○
