So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.

So the king didn’t listen to the people. That’s because God had planned it that way. What the Lord had said through Ahijah came true. Ahijah had spoken the Lord’ s message to Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Ahijah was from Shiloh.

So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of affairs brought about by God that the Lord might fulfill his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the Lord’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.

先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「難道我們立你作王的謀士嗎？你住口吧！為何要挨打呢？」先知就止住了，卻說：「我知道神已定意要消滅你，因為你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒。」猶大王亞瑪謝經商議後，就派人去見耶戶的孫子，約哈斯的兒子以色列王約阿施，說：「來，讓我們面對面較量吧！」以色列王約阿施派人去見猶大王亞瑪謝，說：「黎巴嫩的蒺藜派人去見黎巴嫩的香柏樹，說：『將你的女兒嫁給我的兒子。』但有一隻野獸經過黎巴嫩，把蒺藜踐踏了。你說，看哪，你打敗了以東，就心高氣傲，以此為榮。現在，你待在家裏算了吧，為何要惹禍使自己和猶大一同敗亡呢？」亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從。這是出乎神，好將他們交在敵人手裏，因為他們尋求以東的神明。

那時，耶羅波安出了耶路撒冷，示羅人亞希雅先知在路上遇見他；亞希雅身上穿着一件新衣。田野中只有他們二人，沒有其他的人。亞希雅拿起穿在自己身上的新衣，把它撕成十二片，對耶羅波安說：「你可以拿十片。耶和華－以色列的神如此說：『看哪，我必從所羅門手裏撕裂這國，把十個支派賜給你。我因我僕人大衛和我在以色列眾支派中所選擇的耶路撒冷城的緣故，仍為所羅門留一個支派。因為他們離棄我，敬拜西頓人的女神亞斯她錄、摩押的神明基抹和亞捫人的神明米勒公，沒有像他父親大衛一樣遵從我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，守我的律例典章。但我不從他手裏奪走整個國家，卻使他在活着的日子作君王，是因我所揀選的僕人大衛遵守我的誡命律例。我必從他兒子手裏將王國奪走，賜給你十個支派，只留一個支派給他的兒子，使我僕人大衛在我所選擇立我名的耶路撒冷城那裏，在我面前常有燈光。我選你，使你照你心裏一切所願的作王，成為以色列的王。你若聽從我一切所吩咐你的，遵行我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，謹守我的律例誡命，像我僕人大衛所行的，我就與你同在，為你立堅固的家，像我為大衛所立的一樣，將以色列賜給你。我必因這事使大衛的後裔遭受患難，但不是永遠的。』」

他既按着神確定的旨意和預知被交與人，你們就藉着不法之人的手把他釘在十字架上，殺了。

耶和華使歪曲的靈滲入埃及中間，讓他們使埃及一切所做的都出差錯，好像醉酒之人嘔吐時東倒西歪一樣。

所羅門其餘的事，自始至終，不都寫在拿單先知的書上和示羅人亞希雅的《預言書》上，以及易多先見論尼八兒子耶羅波安的《默示書》上嗎？

耶和華說：『誰去引誘亞哈上基列的拉末去陣亡呢？』這個這樣說，那個那樣說。

他雖然在他們面前行了許多神蹟，他們還是不信他。這是要應驗以賽亞先知所說的話：「主啊，我們所傳的有誰信呢？主的膀臂向誰顯露呢？」他們所以不能信，因為以賽亞又說：

所以，以色列的聖者如此說：「因你們藐視這話，倚賴欺壓和詭詐，以此為可靠，因此，這罪孽在你們身上，好像高牆裏有凸起的裂縫，頃刻之間忽然坍下來了；

於是士兵來，把第一個人的腿，和與耶穌同釘的另一個人的腿，都打斷了。當他們來到耶穌那裏，見他已經死了，就沒有打斷他的腿。然而有一個士兵拿槍扎他的肋旁，立刻有血和水流出來。看見這事的人作了見證－他的見證是真的，他知道自己所說的是真的－好讓你們也信。這些事發生，為要應驗經上的話：「他的骨頭一根也不可折斷。」

他們就彼此說：「我們不要撕開，我們抽籤，看是誰的。」這要應驗經上的話說：「他們分了我的外衣，為我的內衣抽籤。」士兵果然做了這些事。

『耶和華如此說：你們不可上去與你們的弟兄以色列人打仗。你們各自回家去吧！因為這事是出於我。』」眾人就聽從耶和華的話，遵照耶和華的話回去了。
