寡婦守節、而一無倚靠者、必能一心仰望天主、恆常祈禱、不舍晝夜。

后来守寡了，现在已经八十四岁。她从不离开圣殿，禁食祈祷，日夜事奉神。

要尊重那些真正的寡妇。

我希望你们一无挂虑。没有结婚的男人所挂虑的是主的事，是要怎样讨主的喜悦；

实际上，从前盼望神的那些圣洁妇女，也是这样装饰自己，服从自己丈夫的；

如果一个女信徒，在亲属中有寡妇，她就应该帮助她们，不要让教会承受压力，好使教会能够帮助那些真正的寡妇。

耶稣对他们讲了一个比喻，说他们必须常常祷告，不要丧胆。

你们中间谁是敬畏耶和华、听他仆人声音的呢？谁是行在黑暗中、没有亮光的呢？他就当依靠耶和华的名，依赖自己的神！

那时你心里必说：‘我既丧子，又不能生育，我被掳、被放逐，究竟是谁给我生了这些孩子呢？又是谁把这些孩子养大的呢？看哪！我被留下孤身一人，这些孩子究竟是从哪里来的呢？’”

看哪！神是我的救恩，我依靠他，并不惧怕；因为神耶和华是我的力量、我的颂歌，他也成了我的救恩。”

锡安的城门必哀哭、悲恸；锡安必空空如也，坐在地上。

难道神绝不会给那些他所拣选、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道吗？难道神会耽误帮助他们吗？

“不能生育、未曾生产的女子啊，你要欢唱！未曾分娩的女子啊，你要放声欢唱、呼喊！因为孤凄的女子比有丈夫的女子，将有更多的儿女。”这是耶和华说的。

你们要以各样的祷告和祈求，藉着圣灵时刻祈祷；而且为此警醒，以极大的忍耐，为所有圣徒祈求，

为了那应许，我们十二个支派日夜热切地事奉神，盼望得到它。王啊，我被犹太人控告，就是为了这盼望。

他必用自己的羽翼遮盖你，你要投靠在他的翅膀底下；他的信实是盾牌和壁垒。

愿耶和华回报你的作为！愿你的酬报充充足足来自耶和华——你来投靠其翅膀底下的以色列的神！”

这样他就分心了。未婚女子和童贞女子挂虑主的事，以致身体和心灵都得以圣洁；而结了婚的妇女挂虑世界的事，是要怎样讨丈夫的喜悦。

这就是说，在你们那里，藉着你们和我里面彼此的信仰，大家可以同得鼓励。

原来，自从创世以来，神那不可见的本性，就是他永恒的大能和神性，都藉着所造之物，被人明白、被人看见，以致使人无法推诿。所以人是已经知道神的，但是却不把他当做神来荣耀他，也不感谢他；相反，他们在思想上变得虚妄，他们无知的心就昏暗了。

我们从他领受了恩典和使徒的职份，为了他名的缘故，要在万民中带来信仰上的顺从；
