Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (niv)

So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. (niv)

Jesus answered,“ My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (niv)

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (niv)

This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. (niv)

Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. (niv)

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (niv)
