我赞赏你们，因为你们凡事都想到我，并坚守我传给你们的各种教导。

在我们的父上帝面前不断地想到你们因信我们主耶稣基督而做的工作、因爱祂而受的劳苦和因祂所赐的盼望而激发的忍耐。

西拉和提摩太从马其顿来了之后，保罗就把全部时间都用来传道，向犹太人证明耶稣是基督。

有好消息从远方传来，如凉水滋润干渴的人。

上帝可以作证，我是怎样以基督耶稣的慈爱之心想念你们。

那穿山越岭之人的脚踪是何等佳美！他带来佳音，报告平安，传递喜讯，宣布救恩，对锡安说：“你的上帝做王了。”

我们到马其顿的时候，身心无法安歇，面临着重重患难，外有冲突，内有恐惧。但安慰沮丧之人的上帝借着提多的到来激励了我们。我们得到激励，不但是因为提多来了，也因为看到他从你们那里得到了激励。他把你们对我的想念、对我的热心以及你们的哀痛都告诉了我，这使我更加欢喜。

弟兄姊妹，我们应当为你们常常感谢上帝，这是合宜的，因为你们的信心不断增长，彼此相爱的心也不断增加。

我保罗亲笔问候你们。请你们不要忘记狱中的我。愿上帝的恩典常与你们同在！

制止这些人的目的是为了爱，这爱来自于清洁的心、无亏的良心和真实无伪的信心。

这事之后，保罗离开雅典前往哥林多，

要设身处地地顾念那些被囚禁的人，要感同身受地顾念那些遭遇苦难的人。

弟兄姊妹，你们一定记得我们的劳苦和艰难。我们一面向你们传福音，一面昼夜辛勤工作，免得成为你们任何人的负担。

我们既然已经在基督耶稣里，受不受割礼根本无关紧要，借着爱表现出来的信心才至关重要。

你们使我们在上帝面前感到非常喜乐，我们该怎样为你们感谢上帝呢！我们昼夜恳切祷告，渴望能见到你们，弥补你们信心的不足之处。

你们要记住从前带领你们、把上帝的道传给你们的人，留心观察他们一生如何行事为人，效法他们的信心。

我日夜不停地为你祷告，对我效法祖先用清洁的良心事奉的上帝充满了感恩。

因为我听说了你对主耶稣的信心和对众圣徒的爱心。

弟兄姊妹，我们暂时与你们分离，心灵却与你们在一起。我们非常渴望见到你们。

其实上帝的命令是：我们要信祂儿子耶稣基督的名，遵照祂的命令彼此相爱。

如今常存的有信、望、爱这三样，其中最伟大的是爱。
