Fill up then the measure of your ancestors!

In the fourth generation your descendants will return here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its limit.”

Now, brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.

Then he said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”The crowd was listening to him until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted,“ Away with this man from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!”

The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

When both the Gentiles and the Jews( together with their rulers) made an attempt to mistreat them and stone them,

( 3: 19)“ For indeed the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant evildoers will be chaff. The coming day will burn them up,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ It will not leave even a root or branch.

But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they began to contradict what Paul was saying by reviling him.

For this reason I ask you not to lose heart because of what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

I asked,“ What is it?” And he replied,“ It is a basket for measuring grain that is moving away from here.” Moreover, he said,“ This is their‘ eye’ throughout all the earth.”Then a round lead cover was raised up, revealing a woman sitting inside the basket.He then said,“ This woman represents wickedness,” and he pushed her down into the basket and placed the lead cover on top.

For then there will be great suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen.And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

so that this generation may be held accountable for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be charged against this generation.

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”

The evildoer must continue to do evil, and the one who is morally filthy must continue to be filthy. The one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers took issue with him,saying,“ You went to uncircumcised men and shared a meal with them.”

The rest seized his slaves, insolently mistreated them, and killed them.The king was furious! He sent his soldiers, and they put those murderers to death and set their city on fire.

Therefore if God gave them the same gift as he also gave us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder God?”When they heard this, they ceased their objections and praised God, saying,“ So then, God has granted the repentance that leads to life even to the Gentiles.”

Now while Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews attacked Paul together and brought him before the judgment seat,saying,“ This man is persuading people to worship God in a way contrary to the law!”

Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so the last state of that person is worse than the first. It will be that way for this evil generation as well!”

When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from the province of Asia who had seen him in the temple area stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,shouting,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this sanctuary! Furthermore he has brought Greeks into the inner courts of the temple and made this holy place ritually unclean!”( For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him previously, and they assumed Paul had brought him into the inner temple courts.)The whole city was stirred up, and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple courts, and immediately the doors were shut.While they were trying to kill him, a report was sent up to the commanding officer of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

I will produce portents both in the sky and on the earth– blood, fire, and columns of smoke.The sunlight will be turned to darkness and the moon to the color of blood, before the day of the LORD comes– that great and terrible day!

But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,“ You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?Therefore produce fruit that proves your repentance,and don’t think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!Even now the ax is laid at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

They said to him,“ He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the scriptures:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.”

But the Jews became jealous, and gathering together some worthless men from the rabble in the marketplace, they formed a mob and set the city in an uproar. They attacked Jason’s house, trying to find Paul and Silas to bring them out to the assembly.When they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city officials, screaming,“ These people who have stirred up trouble throughout the world have come here too,

But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed; its fate is to be burned.

saying,“ If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.They will demolish you– you and your children within your walls– and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

Turn to me so you can be delivered, all you who live in the earth’s remote regions! For I am God, and I have no peer.

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?For we know the one who said,“ Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”

Come now, you rich! Weep and cry aloud over the miseries that are coming on you.Your riches have rotted and your clothing has become moth- eaten.Your gold and silver have rusted and their rust will be a witness against you. It will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have hoarded treasure!Look, the pay you have held back from the workers who mowed your fields cries out against you, and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.You have lived indulgently and luxuriously on the earth. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, although he does not resist you.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clean out his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff he will burn up with inextinguishable fire.”

But when some were stubborn and refused to believe, reviling the Way before the congregation, he left them and took the disciples with him, addressing them every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

Look, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the LORD arrives.

To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

since he wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them?And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written,“ How timely is the arrival of those who proclaim the good news.”

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.

“ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Those who are inside the city must depart. Those who are out in the country must not enter it,because these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people.They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come.
