Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.

在患难的日子，你呼求我。我必搭救你，你也必尊敬我。”

所以你们应当彼此认罪，互相代求，这样你们就可以痊愈。义人祈祷所发出的力量，是大有功效的。

城里的人清早起来，见巴力的祭坛已被拆毁，坛旁的亚舍拉也被砍下来，并且看见那第二头牛献在新筑的祭坛上的时候，

牛车到了伯．示麦人约书亚的田间，就停在那里；那里有一块大石，他们把做那车的木料劈开，又把那两只母牛作燔祭献给耶和华。利未人把耶和华的约柜，与它一同送来装有金器的盒子，都搬了下来，放在大石上；那一天，伯．示麦人向耶和华献上燔祭，又献上其他的祭。

撒母耳说：“我怎能去呢？扫罗听见了，必定杀我。”耶和华说：“你可以带一头母牛犊去，就说：‘我来是要向耶和华献祭。’

以利亚对众人说：“你们走近我这里来。”众人就都走近他面前。他重修已经毁坏了的耶和华的祭坛。以利亚照着雅各子孙支派的数目，拿了十二块石头。（耶和华的话曾临到雅各说：“你的名要叫以色列。”）以利亚奉耶和华的名用这些石头筑了一座坛，在坛的四周挖沟，可容十四公升种籽，然后把柴排好，又把公牛切成块子，放在柴上，就说：“你们盛满四桶水，倒在燔祭和柴上。”又说：“倒第二次。”他们就倒第二次；又说：“倒第三次。”他们就倒第三次。水流到祭坛的四周，甚至水沟里也满了水。到了献晚祭的时候，以利亚先知近前来，说：“亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神耶和华，求你今天使人知道你是在以色列中的神，我是你的仆人，又是奉你的命令行这一切事。耶和华啊，求你应允我，应允我！使这民知道你耶和华是神，又知道是你使这民的心再回转过来的。”于是有耶和华的火降下来，吞灭了燔祭、木柴、石头和尘土，连沟里的水也烧干了。

那些少女回答他们说：“在这里！他就在你们前面，现在快去吧！他今天正到这城里来，因为今天在邱坛上，人民有献祭的事。

你要在我以先下到吉甲去，我也要下到你那里去献燔祭和平安祭。你要等候七天，等我到了你那里，指示你所当行的。”

在这坚固的地方上面，你要整整齐齐为耶和华你的神筑一座祭坛，拿第二头牛作燔祭，用你砍下来的亚舍拉作柴。”
