On that day I will carry out against Eli everything that I have spoken in regard to his house, from beginning to end.For I have told him that I am going to judge his house forever for the wrongdoing that he knew, because his sons were bringing a curse on themselves and he did not rebuke them.

Behold, the days are coming when I will eliminate your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house.And you will look at the distress of My dwelling, in spite of all the good that I do for Israel; and there will never be an old man in your house.

All who pass along the way Clap their hands in ridicule at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city of which they said,‘ Perfect in beauty, A joy to all the earth’?”All your enemies Have opened their mouths wide against you; They hiss and gnash their teeth. For zeal for Your house has consumed me, And the taunts of those who taunt You have fallen on me.

My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”

For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number are asleep.But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

Lord, I love the dwelling of Your house, And the place where Your glory remains.
