For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.

I told Eli I would punish his family forever. He knew his sons were sinning. He knew they were saying bad things about me. In spite of that, he did not stop them.

And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.

I have warned him that judgment is coming upon his family forever, because his sons are blaspheming God and he hasn’t disciplined them.

此子乃押沙龍弟、丰采甚都、在昔其父、未嘗詰其所為何事、故不使懷憂。

子見督責、必益智慧、否則貽父母羞。

我耶和華必鞫以色列族、視人所為、降以刑罰、故當悛改、免陷於罪、以致滅亡。

髫齡必受督責、杖之則身不歸死地、魂不墮陰府。

蓋爾居恆、亦知嘗譭人。

又曰、昔爾以惡待我父大闢、爾心所知、今耶和華必因是惡而報施焉。

異邦人當儆醒、至約沙法谷、在彼我坐堂皇、以鞫億兆、

願上帝為我一洒之、彼眾我實不能禦、如何則可、惟爾是望。

以利年邁、聞其子、於以色列族中所行、亦聞其與會幕前從事之女同寢、謂之曰、我聞於民、爾行不端、爾作此曷故。我所風聞非善、爾使耶和華之民犯罪。人若相犯、士師折中、若犯耶和華、誰代之祈。二子不聽父言、耶和華決意殺之。撒母耳漸長、耶和華與人眷愛益甚。○上帝之僕至以利、曰耶和華云、爾祖之家、昔在埃及、為役於法老室、我與之顯現。以色列眾支派中、我簡爾祖為祭司、使獻祭於壇、爇芬芳、衣公服於我前、以色列族燔而獻我者、我於其中以歸爾祖之家。何爾桀驁不馴、不於我室獻我所命之祭祀禮物、何重爾子、不崇敬我、取我民以色列族所獻之嘉物、使自果腹乎。以色列族之上帝耶和華又曰、我昔有言、爾祖之家、將恆供我役、今我不然、凡尊敬我者、我尊顯之、藐視我者、亦必藐視之。越至後日、我將絕爾及全家之力、使爾家中無一耆老。昔我有言、將厚待以色列族、今而後、敵必臨我家、為爾目擊、在爾家不得有老者。爾族中侍我壇前者、雖尚有人、必使爾目盲心擾、爾家之所育必壯年夭逝。爾之二子、何弗尼、非尼哈、必同日而亡、既遇斯事、可以為徵。我必挺生忠藎之祭司、彼循我心意而行、我必克昌厥後、使恆從我受膏者。爾家之所遺、必至其前、俯伏於地、求一金一餅、曰、祭司之職、容我分任、以食一餅。

既屆其時、我必震怒、視其所行不義、深堪痛疾、降災其身、不加矜憫、滅之務盡、使知我乃耶和華。
