耶和华对何西阿说：“给他取名叫耶斯列，因为再过不久，我就要因耶户家在耶斯列的屠杀而惩罚他们，消灭以色列国。那时，我要在耶斯列平原折断以色列的弓。”后来，歌蜜又怀孕生了一个女儿。耶和华对何西阿说：“给她取名叫罗·路哈玛，因为我将不再怜悯以色列家，也不再赦免他们的罪。但我要怜悯犹大家，使他们依靠他们的上帝耶和华得到拯救，而不是依靠战弓、刀剑、马匹、骑兵和战争。”罗·路哈玛断奶后，歌蜜又怀孕生了一个儿子。耶和华说：“给他取名叫罗·阿米，因为以色列人不再是我的子民，我也不再是他们的上帝。“然而，以色列的人数必像海沙一样量不尽、数不完。从前我在什么地方对他们说‘你们不是我的子民’，将来也要在那里对他们说‘你们是永活上帝的儿女’。那时，犹大人和以色列人将被聚集起来，为自己选立一位首领，从流亡之地返回故乡，安居乐业。耶斯列的日子将是伟大的日子。

便回去禀告耶户。耶户说：“这正应验耶和华借祂仆人提斯比人以利亚说的话，‘狗必在耶斯列的田间吃耶洗别的肉，

他们的土地包括耶斯列、基苏律、书念、

霎时间，天上乌云密布，狂风大作，下起大雨。亚哈坐着马车回耶斯列。耶和华的灵降在以利亚身上，他就束上腰带，飞奔回城，在亚哈之前到达耶斯列的城门。

至于耶洗别，耶和华说，‘狗必在耶斯列的城墙边吃耶洗别的肉。

非利士人召集大军与以色列人交战。亚吉对大卫说：“你应该明白，你和部下要随我一起出战。”大卫答道：“仆人愿意效劳。”亚吉说：“很好！你就终生做我的护卫吧。”

那时，米甸人、亚玛力人及东方人一起过了约旦河，在耶斯列的平原安营。

非利士人集合起来，在书念扎营，扫罗率领以色列军队在基利波扎营。

耶户去了耶斯列。耶洗别闻讯，便梳头描眉，向窗外眺望。
