David said to his men,“ Each of you strap on your sword!” So they did, and David strapped his on as well. About four hundred men went up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies.

And David said to his men,“ Every man strap on his sword!” And every man of them strapped on his sword. David also strapped on his sword. And about four hundred men went up after David, while two hundred remained with the baggage.

“ Get your swords!” was David’s reply as he strapped on his own. Then 400 men started off with David, and 200 remained behind to guard their equipment.

大卫和跟从他的人，约有六百人，就起身离开基伊拉，到处漂泊。有人告诉扫罗，大卫已经逃离了基伊拉，扫罗就不出去了。

一个人没有知识是不好的，脚步匆忙的，难免失足。

人的明慧使他不轻易动怒；宽恕别人过失的，是自己的荣耀。

以色列人取了他们一些食物，却没有求问耶和华的旨意。

事后，大卫为了割下扫罗的衣边，心中自责，就对跟随他的人说：“我在耶和华面前绝对不能这样对待我主耶和华的受膏者，我绝对不能动手攻击他，因为他是耶和华的受膏者。”

不轻易动怒的，胜过勇士；克服己心的，胜过把城攻取的人。

亲爱的啊，不要为自己伸冤，宁可等候主的忿怒，因为经上记着，主说：“伸冤在我，我必报应。”相反地，“如果你的仇敌饿了，就给他吃；如果渴了，就给他喝。因为你这样作，就是把炭火堆在他的头上。”不可被恶所胜，反要以善胜恶。

不轻易动怒的，十分聪明；轻易动怒的，大显愚妄。

不可轻率出去与人争讼；否则，你的邻舍若使你受辱，结果你要怎么办呢？

我亲爱的弟兄们，你们要知道，人人都应该快快地听，慢慢地说，慢一点动怒；因为人的忿怒并不能成全神的义。

大卫来到那二百人那里，那些人因太疲乏不能跟随大卫去，而留在比梭溪旁；他们出来迎接大卫和跟随他的众人。大卫接近众人的时候，就向他们问安。与大卫一起去的那些人中，有些恶人和流氓说：“他们没有和我们一起去，我们就不把夺回来的战利品分给他们，只把他们各人的妻子和儿子还给他们，让他们领回去就是了。”大卫说：“兄弟们，耶和华赐给我们的，你们不可以这样作。他保护了我们，又把那些攻击我们的匪徒交在我们手里。这事谁要听从你们呢？下战场的得多少，留守武器的也得多少，应当大家平分。”

于是大卫和跟随他的六百人出发。他们到了比梭溪，有些跟不上的就留在那里。有二百人太疲乏，不能渡过比梭溪，就留在那里，大卫和四百人继续追赶。
