And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab,“ Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab. He spoke to the king of Moab. He said,“ Please let my father and mother come and stay with you. Let them stay until I learn what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

Later David went to Mizpeh in Moab, where he asked the king,“ Please allow my father and mother to live here with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth,[ and be] with you, till I know what God will do for me.

Then David went from there to Mizpah in Moab, where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab, and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come out with you, until I know what God will do for me.”

Now when Saul had taken control of the kingdom over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, the sons of Ammon, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines; and wherever he turned, he inflicted punishment.

For God said,‘ Honor your father and mother,’ and,‘ The one who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.’But you say,‘ Whoever says to his father or mother,“ Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,”he is not to honor his father or mother.’ And by this you have invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how things go with me;and I trust in the Lord that I myself will also be coming shortly.

Now it came about in the days when the judges governed, that there was a famine in the land. And a man of Bethlehem in Judah went to reside in the land of Moab with his wife and his two sons.The name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife, Naomi; and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem in Judah. So they entered the land of Moab and remained there.Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left with her two sons.And they took for themselves Moabite women as wives; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other, Ruth. And they lived there about ten years.

Now the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh; then he passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he went on to the sons of Ammon.

Furthermore, I have acquired Ruth the Moabitess, the widow of Mahlon, to be my wife in order to raise up the name of the deceased on his inheritance, so that the name of the deceased will not be eliminated from his brothers or from the court of his birth place; you are witnesses today.”

And the king said to Zadok,“ Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the sight of the Lord, then He will bring me back and show me both it and His habitation.But if He says this:‘ I have no delight in you,’ then here I am, let Him do to me as seems good to Him.”

So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. And he said,“ He is the Lord; let Him do what seems good to Him.”

“ Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

And the neighbor women gave him a name, saying,“ A son has been born to Naomi!” So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Now Joseph settled his father and his brothers and gave them property in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had ordered.

but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to show proper respect for their own family and to give back compensation to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
