Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

於是王對多益說：「你過去擊殺祭司們。」以東人多益就過去擊殺那些祭司。那天他殺了八十五個佩戴細麻布以弗得的人，

王謂多益曰、爾往擊之、以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲聖衣者、八十五人、

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king ordered Doeg,“ You go and strike down the priests.” So Doeg, the Edomite, went and struck them down. That day he killed 85 priests who wore linen aprons.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore linen ephods.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You, turn around and attack the priests!” And Doeg the Edomite turned around and attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty five men who wore the linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and kill the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed 85 men who wore linen ephods.

Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.

Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house.Then in distress you will look with envious eye on all the prosperity that shall be bestowed on Israel, and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.The only one of you whom I shall not cut off from my altar shall be spared to weep his eyes out to grieve his heart, and all the descendants of your house shall die by the sword of men.

And I did so in Jerusalem. I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority from the chief priests, but when they were put to death I cast my vote against them.And I punished them often in all the synagogues and tried to make them blaspheme, and in raging fury against them I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.Therefore I swear to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”

By their evil they make the king glad, and the princes by their treachery.

“ For Aaron’s sons you shall make coats and sashes and caps. You shall make them for glory and beauty.

For you have kept the statutes of Omri, and all the works of the house of Ahab; and you have walked in their counsels, that I may make you a desolation, and your inhabitants a hissing; so you shall bear the scorn of my people.”

And everyone who is left in your house shall come to implore him for a piece of silver or a loaf of bread and shall say,“ Please put me in one of the priests’ places, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”

Her officials within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that leave nothing till the morning.

Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after filth.

Did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? I gave to the house of your father all my offerings by fire from the people of Israel.

But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord.
