You love justice and hate evil. For this reason God, your God has anointed you with the oil of joy, elevating you above your companions.

O LORD, the king rejoices in the strength you give; he takes great delight in the deliverance you provide.

As Samuel was offering burnt offerings, the Philistines approached to do battle with Israel. But on that day the LORD thundered loudly against the Philistines. He caused them to panic, and they were defeated by Israel.

The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the LORD and his anointed king.

God springs into action! His enemies scatter; his adversaries run from him.As smoke is driven away by the wind, so you drive them away. As wax melts before fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.

Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes, but know that God will judge your motives and actions.

“ When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.All the nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

Then Jesus came up and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

May all your enemies perish like this, O LORD! But may those who love you shine like the rising sun at its brightest!” And the land had rest for forty years.

For God will evaluate every deed, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

For the king trusts in the LORD, and because of the sovereign LORD’s faithfulness he is not upended.You prevail over all your enemies; your power is too great for those who hate you.You burn them up like a fiery furnace when you appear; the LORD angrily devours them; the fire consumes them.

“ I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.”

For he has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David,

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,

Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened– the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death– the lake of fire.If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.

For you give them splendor and strength. By your favor we are victorious.

He has made his people victorious, and given all his loyal followers reason to praise– the Israelites, the people who are close to him. Praise the LORD!

Then the king will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.

they will say about me,“ Yes, the LORD is a powerful deliverer.”’” All who are angry at him will cower before him.

But you who eat vegetables only– why do you judge your brother or sister? And you who eat everything– why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.For it is written,“ As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will give praise to God.”Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you leader of my people Israel.

Do you have an arm as powerful as God’s, and can you thunder with a voice like his?

Now look! Here is the king you have chosen– the one that you asked for! Look, the LORD has given you a king!

Samuel said to him,“ The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to one of your colleagues who is better than you!

Here I am. Bring a charge against me before the LORD and before his chosen king. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I wronged? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I taken a bribe so that I would overlook something? Tell me, and I will return it to you!”

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.

The LORD strengthens his people; he protects and delivers his chosen king.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

So Samuel called to the LORD, and the LORD made it thunder and rain that day. All the people were very afraid of both the LORD and Samuel.

Look, a king will promote fairness; officials will promote justice.
