巴蘭看見亞瑪力人，就唱起詩歌說：「亞瑪力是諸國之首，但它終必永遠沉淪。」

又用刀把祭司城挪伯中的男女、孩童和吃奶的都殺了，又用刀殺了牛、羊和驢子。

這城和其中所有的都要永獻給耶和華作當毀滅的，只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所派的使者。但你們務必謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，免得你們受詛咒，取了那當滅的物，使以色列全營成為詛咒而遭受災禍。只有金子、銀子和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，放入耶和華的庫房中。」於是百姓呼喊，祭司吹角。百姓一聽見角聲就大聲呼喊，城牆隨着倒塌。百姓上去進城，各人往前直上，把城奪取。他們把城中所有的，無論男女老少，牛羊和驢，都用刀殺盡。

現在，你們要殺所有的男孩，也要把所有曾與男人同房共寢的女子都殺了。

又對亞當說：「你既聽從你妻子的話，吃了那樹上所出的，就是我吩咐你不可吃的，土地必因你的緣故受詛咒；你必終生勞苦才能從土地得吃的。土地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；你也要吃田間的五穀菜蔬。

為了祖先的罪孽，要預備他子孫的屠宰場，免得他們興起，奪得全地，使城市遍滿地面。」萬軍之耶和華說：「我必起來攻擊他們，將巴比倫的名號和剩餘的人，連子帶孫一併剪除；這是耶和華說的。

你務必用刀殺那城裏的居民，把城裏所有的，連牲畜都用刀滅盡。你要把從城裏所奪取的一切財物堆在廣場中，用火將那城和其中奪取的一切財物全燒給耶和華－你的上帝。那城要永遠成為廢墟，不得重建。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它們，因為我耶和華－你的上帝是忌邪的上帝。恨我的，我必懲罰他們的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

「但一切永獻作當滅的，就是人從他所有永獻給耶和華作當滅的，無論是人，是牲畜，是他繼承的田地，都不可賣，也不可贖。凡永獻作當滅的都歸耶和華為至聖。凡從人中永獻作當滅的都不可贖，必被處死。

因為受造之物屈服在虛空之下，不是自己願意，而是因那使它屈服的叫他如此。但受造之物仍然指望從敗壞的轄制下得釋放，得享上帝兒女榮耀的自由。
