掃羅說：“我們趁著晚上下去追趕非利士人，搶掠他們，直到天亮，不讓他們留下一人。”他們說：“你看怎麼好，就怎麼行吧！”但祭司說：“我們先在這裡親近神！”

扫罗说：“我们不如夜里下去追赶非利士人，抢掠他们，直到天亮，不留他们一人。”众民说：“你看怎样好就去行吧！”祭司说：“我们先当亲近神。”

扫罗说：“我们要在夜里下去追赶非利士人，抢掠他们，直到天亮，不给他们留下一人。”众百姓说：“你看怎样好就做吧！”祭司说：“我们要先在这里亲近上帝。”

扫罗说：“我们要在夜里下去追赶非利士人，抢掠他们，直到天亮，不给他们留下一人。”众百姓说：“你看怎样好就做吧！”祭司说：“我们要先在这里亲近神。”

他对以色列人说：“让我们连夜追赶非利士人，抢夺他们的财物，直到天亮，把他们全部歼灭。”众人答道：“就照你的意思。”但祭司说：“让我们先来求问上帝吧。”

掃羅說：『我們今夜要下去追趕非利士人，擄掠他們、直到晨光發亮，不讓剩下一人。』眾民說：『你看怎麼好，就怎麼行吧。』祭司說：『我們應當先在這裏親近上帝。』

掃羅說：「我們要趁夜下去追趕非利士人，掠奪他們直到天亮，不讓他們一人存留。」軍兵說：「你看怎樣好就怎樣做吧！」但祭司說：「讓我們在這裡求問神。」

掃羅曰、不如乘夜追非利士人、掠其所有、擊之至於黎明、不留其一人、民曰、爾以為當如何行則行之、祭司曰、當在此至天主前、

Saul said,“ Let us go down and pursue the Philistines by night and plunder them till dawn, and let us not leave one of them alive.”“ Do whatever seems best to you,” they replied. But the priest said,“ Let us inquire of God here.”

Saul said,“ Let’s go down and chase after the Philistines tonight. Let’s not leave even one of them alive. Let’s take everything they have before morning.”“ Do what you think is best,” they replied. But the priest said,“ Let’s ask God for advice first.”

Then Saul said,“ Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them.” And they said,“ Do whatever seems good to you.” But the priest said,“ Let us draw near to God here.”

Then Saul said,“ Let’s chase the Philistines all night and plunder them until sunrise. Let’s destroy every last one of them.” His men replied,“ We’ll do whatever you think is best.” But the priest said,“ Let’s ask God first.”

Saul said,“ Let’s go down after the Philistines tonight and plunder them until morning. Don’t let even one remain!”“ Do whatever you want,” the troops replied. But the priest said,“ Let’s approach God here.”

Then Saul said,“ Let’s go down after the Philistines by night and take plunder among them until the morning light, and let’s not leave a man among them alive.” And they said,“ Do whatever seems good to you.” So the priest said,“ Let’s approach God here.”

Now Saul said,“ Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and plunder them until the morning light; and let us not leave a man of them.” And they said,“ Do whatever seems good to you.” Then the priest said,“ Let us draw near to God here.”

And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and take spoil among them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

Saul said,“ Let’s go down after the Philistines tonight and plunder them until morning. Don’t let even one remain!”“ Do whatever you want,” the troops replied. But the priest said,“ We must consult God here.”

And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

Saul said,“ Let’s go down after the Philistines at night; we will rout them until the break of day. We won’t leave any of them alive!” They replied,“ Do whatever seems best to you.” But the priest said,“ Let’s approach God here.”

Saul said,“ Let’s go down after the Philistines by night, and take plunder among them until the morning light, and let’s not leave a man of them.” They said,“ Do whatever seems good to you.” Then the priest said,“ Let’s draw near here to God.”

雅各家，就是被稱為以色列的，從猶大的水源出來的，指著耶和華的名起誓，卻不是出於誠實和公義，提說以色列的神的啊！你們要聽這話。他們被稱為聖城的人，又倚靠以色列的神；他的名字是萬軍之耶和華。

那些城所有的戰利品和牲畜，以色列人都據為己有；只是把所有的人都用刀擊殺了，直到把他們殺盡；有氣息的，他們沒有留下一個。

你們應當親近神，神就親近你們。罪人啊，要潔淨你們的手；三心兩意的人哪，要清潔你們的心。

其中有亞希突的兒子亞希亞帶著以弗得；亞希突是以迦博的哥哥，非尼哈的兒子，以利的孫子。以利從前在示羅作耶和華的祭司。約拿單去了，眾人都不知道。

他們天天尋求我，樂意明白我的道路，好像行義的國民，不離棄他們神的公理；他們向我求問公義的判語，又喜歡親近神。

你們卻不可站著，要追趕你們的仇敵，從後面擊殺他們，不可讓他們逃進自己的城中，因為耶和華你們的神已經把他們交在你們的手裡了。”

起來！我們趁著夜間上去，毀壞她的堡壘。”

於是約書亞乘夜從吉甲上去，突然來到他們那裡。耶和華使他們在以色列人面前潰亂，約書亞在基遍大大地擊殺他們，沿著伯．和崙的上坡路追趕他們，擊打他們，直到亞西加和瑪基大。他們從以色列人面前逃跑，正在下伯．和崙斜坡的時候，耶和華從天上降大冰雹在他們身上，一直到亞西加，打死他們；被冰雹打死的，比以色列人用刀殺死的還多。那時，就是耶和華把亞摩利人交給以色列人的時候，約書亞在以色列人面前對耶和華說：“太陽啊，停在基遍；月亮啊，停在亞雅崙谷。”於是太陽停住，月亮站住，直到以色列人在仇敵的身上報了仇。這事不是寫在《雅煞珥書》上嗎？太陽在天空中站住，不急速下落，約有一整天。在這日以前或這日以後，耶和華聽人的禱告，沒有像這日一樣的，因為耶和華為以色列作戰。

他要站在以利亞撒祭司面前，以利亞撒要藉著烏陵的判斷，在耶和華面前為他求問；他和以色列眾人，就是全體會眾，都要按著以利亞撒的命令出入。”

祭司的嘴當保存知識，人要從他的口中尋求教訓，因為他是萬軍耶和華的使者。

對我來說，親近神是美好的，我以主耶和華為我的避難所；我要述說你的一切作為。

掃羅對亞希亞說：“把神的約櫃運來！”因為那時神的約櫃在以色列人那裡。掃羅正對祭司說話的時候，非利士營中的騷亂越來越大，掃羅就對祭司說：“住手吧！”

第二天，掃羅把眾人分成三隊。在晨更的時候，他們進了亞捫人的營中，擊殺他們，直到中午；殘餘的人都星散了，他們中間沒有兩個人留在一起的。
