扫罗叫百姓起誓说，凡不等到晚上向敌人报完了仇吃什么的，必受咒诅。因此这日百姓没有吃什么，就极其困惫。

那日，以色列人非常困惫，因为扫罗叫百姓起誓说：“凡不等到晚上我向敌人报完了仇就吃东西的，必受诅咒。”因此所有的百姓都没有尝食物。

Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

Now the men of Israel were pressed to exhaustion that day, because Saul had placed them under an oath, saying,“ Let a curse fall on anyone who eats before evening— before I have full revenge on my enemies.” So no one ate anything all day,

and the men of Israel were worn out that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath:“ The man who eats food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies is cursed.” So none of the troops tasted any food.

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and before I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

『「造永恆主所厭惡、匠人的手所作的雕像或鑄像，暗中立着的、那人必受咒詛」；眾民都要答應說：「阿們。」『「輕慢父親或母親的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「挪移鄰舍地界的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「使瞎子在路上走錯的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「對寄居者和孤兒寡婦屈枉正直的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和父親續娶的妻子同寢的、必受咒詛，因為他露現父親的衣邊」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和任何種牲口同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和自己的姐妹、無論是異母同父，或異父同母的姐妹同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和岳母同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「暗中擊殺鄰舍的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「受賄賂擊殺人、流無辜之血的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「不堅信這律法的話而遵行的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」

以色列人在米斯巴曾起過誓說：『我們各人都不將女兒給便雅憫人為妻。』以色列民來到伯特利，坐在那裏直到晚上，在上帝面前放聲大哭，說：『永恆主以色列的上帝啊，今日以色列中缺少了一個族派，為甚麼在以色列中有這樣的事呢？』第二天眾民清早起來，在那裏築了一座祭壇，獻上燔祭和平安祭。以色列人彼此對問說：『以色列眾族派中、誰沒有跟大眾上到永恆主面前呢？』因為以色列人曾經起過大誓說：『凡不上米斯巴到永恆主面前的、必須被處死。』

『為了有領袖們在以色列中率領着，為了有人民自願從軍，你們要祝頌永恆主！

到以色列強大了，就使迦南人作苦工，沒有把他們全都趕出。

就是那給我伸冤的上帝，那使萬族民都屈服於我以下，

原來約拿單沒有聽見他父親向人民所起的誓，故此伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，轉手送到口中；這一來，他眼睛就明亮了。人民中有一個人應時地說：『你父親曾向人民鄭重地起誓說：「今天喫甚麼食物的人必受咒詛」；因此人民都疲乏了。』約拿單說：『我父親把這地方搞壞了；你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，我眼睛就明亮了。何況隨意地喫呢？假使今天人民得以隨意地喫喝從仇敵所掠奪的東西，那我們在非利士人中所擊殺的豈不更多麼？』

若有人不愛主，就讓他被革除！主啊，來吧！

凡永獻者就是從人之中永獻與上帝的、都不能被替贖；他必須被處死。

以色列人向永恆主發願說：『你若將這族人交在我手裏，我就把他們的城市盡行毁滅歸神。』

這城和其中一切所有的都要盡行毁滅歸於永恆主；只有廟妓喇合、她和她家中一切所有的、可以活着，因為她藏了我們所打發的使者。不過你們、可要謹慎，不可取該被毁滅歸神之物，恐怕你們既把它定為該被毁滅歸神，又取了該被毁滅歸神之物，就使以色列營成為該被毁滅歸神，而搞壞它了。但是一切金銀和銅鐵的器皿、都屬於永恆主為聖，要歸入永恆主的寶庫中。』

耶弗他向永恆主許願、說：『你如果真地把亞捫人交在我手中，那麼我從亞捫人那裏平平安安回來時，無論甚麼人先從我家門出來迎接我的、就必歸永恆主；我必將他獻上做燔祭。』
