“ After Jacob entered Egypt, they cried to the Lord for help, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms,[ and] of them that oppressed you:

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

And Samuel said unto the people,[ It is] the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

And it came to pass the selfsame day,[ that] the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary,[ even to] this mountain,[ which] his right hand had purchased.He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God[ is] among you, and[ that] he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan,[ that] the waters of Jordan shall be cut off[ from] the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us,[ what] work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.[ How] thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them;[ how] thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

These[ are] that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them,[ even] to the children of Israel.Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
