For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.

倘若人为叫良心对得住神，就忍受冤屈的苦楚，这是可喜爱的。

倘若你们为使良心对得起上帝，忍受冤屈的痛苦，这是可赞许的。

倘若你们为使良心对得起神，忍受冤屈的痛苦，这是可赞许的。

因为人若为了让良心对得起上帝而忍受冤屈之苦，就会得到恩福。

因为人若在神面前为良心的缘故，忍受冤屈的苦楚，是有福的。

因为人如果为了在神面前良心的缘故，在不公正的苦害中忍受忧患，这是可称赞的；

因為人若在神面前為良心的緣故，忍受冤屈的苦楚，是有福的。

因為人若為了良知要對得住上帝而擔受憂患，喫冤枉的苦，這就是溫雅的行為。

因為人如果為了在神面前良心的緣故，在不公正的苦害中忍受憂患，這是可稱讚的；

緣有對上帝之良、雖受枉而忍憂、則見納矣、

爾受枉、緣上帝而忍之、則可嘉矣、

人具良心畏天主、受枉而能忍、或作人受屈枉因天主而忍之是為可嘉、

凡橫逆之來、如能懷念天主而忍受之、斯可嘉矣。

For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.

Suppose a person suffers pain unfairly because they want to obey God. This is worthy of praise.

For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.

For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person endures grief when suffering unjustly.

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.

For it brings favor if, mindful of God’s will, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.

For this[ is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this finds God’s favor, if because of conscience toward God someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.

“ If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.“ God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.

They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me.

But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!

All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.

Those who hate me without cause outnumber the hairs on my head. Many enemies try to destroy me with lies, demanding that I give back what I didn’t steal.

That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.

Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia.

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me— and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.

Don’t let my treacherous enemies rejoice over my defeat. Don’t let those who hate me without cause gloat over my sorrow.

“ Look, I know what you’re thinking. I know the schemes you plot against me.

I have many aggressive enemies; they hate me without reason.

When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.
