Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

“ Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

In the place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ they will be called‘ children of the living God.’ (niv)

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (niv)

As he says in Hosea:“ I will call them‘ my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her‘ my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”and,“ In the very place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ there they will be called‘ children of the living God.’” (niv)

Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, (niv)

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. (niv)

Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy. (niv)

Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,“ I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.” (niv)

And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, (niv)
