Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

So get rid of every kind of evil, and stop telling lies. Don’t pretend to be something you are not. Stop wanting what others have, and don’t speak against one another.

For“ He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

Or how can you say to your brother,‘ Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

The grass withers, And its flower falls away,But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.

And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God.

But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all,“ Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver And his idols of gold, Which they made, each for himself to worship, To the moles and bats,

Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them,“ Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see it.”

and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
