我必於所賜之地、拒絕以色列族、棄此為我名區別為聖之室、而不之顧、使以色列族、於列國之中、作諺語、為話柄、

我將於所賜之地、殲滅以色列族、我所成聖之殿、為籲名之所者必毀、使以色列族為兆民作歌譏刺。

則我將於所賜之地、翦滅以色列人、必擯棄為我名所區別為聖之殿、使以色列人為萬民作歌譏刺、

then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make Israel an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations.

then I will cut Israel off from the land which I have given them, and the house which I have consecrated for My name, I will expel from My sight. So Israel will become a saying and an object of derision among all peoples.

But I have been watching! declares the Lord.“‘ Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.While you were doing all these things, declares the Lord, I spoke to you again and again, but you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer.Therefore, what I did to Shiloh I will now do to the house that bears my Name, the temple you trust in, the place I gave to you and your ancestors.I will thrust you from my presence, just as I did all your fellow Israelites, the people of Ephraim.’ (niv)

You will leave your name for my chosen ones to use in their curses; the Sovereign Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name. (niv)

When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews,and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said,“ What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble— burned as they are?”Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said,“ What they are building— even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity. (niv)

“ Do you see all these things?” he asked.“ Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” (niv)

Say to the people of Israel,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to desecrate my sanctuary— the stronghold in which you take pride, the delight of your eyes, the object of your affection. The sons and daughters you left behind will fall by the sword. (niv)
