then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David:‘ One of your descendants will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said,‘ You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

Then I will set up your royal throne over Israel forever. I promised your father David I would do that. I said to him,‘ You will always have a son from your family line on the throne of Israel.’

then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying,‘ You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised your father David: You will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.

then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, just as I promised to your father David, saying,‘ You shall not be deprived of a man on the throne of Israel.’

then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel for ever, according as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, just as I promised your father David,‘ You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying,‘ There shall not fail from you a man on the throne of Israel.’

If you do this, then the Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He told me,‘ If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

“ Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my decrees and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David.

For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong.

Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.’”

But you will have a son who will be a man of peace. I will give him peace with his enemies in all the surrounding lands. His name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel during his reign.He is the one who will build a Temple to honor my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will secure the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations,if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him.No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie:His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun.It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” InterludeBut now you have rejected him and cast him off. You are angry with your anointed king.You have renounced your covenant with him; you have thrown his crown in the dust.

The Lord swore an oath to David with a promise he will never take back:“ I will place one of your descendants on your throne.If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and the laws that I teach them, then your royal line will continue forever and ever.”

“ Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who has kept the promise he made to my father, David. For he told my father,

“ And now the Lord has fulfilled the promise he made, for I have become king in my father’s place, and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord promised. I have built this Temple to honor the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
