所羅門禱告完畢，就有火從天上降下，燒盡了燔祭和其他祭物。殿裡充滿了耶和華的榮光，以致祭司不能進殿。全體以色列人看見有火降下，又看見耶和華的榮光停在殿上，便俯伏敬拜，稱謝耶和華說：「耶和華是美善的，祂的慈愛永遠長存。」

耶和華又對摩西說：「你要把我說的這些話記錄下來，因為我要按這些話跟你和以色列人立約。」摩西在耶和華那裡待了四十晝夜，沒吃也沒喝。耶和華把約的內容，就是十條誡命，寫在石版上。

殿裡因為上帝的榮耀和權能而煙霧彌漫，人們必須等到七位天使將七樣災禍降完，才能進入聖殿。

他又把約書念給百姓聽，百姓聽了都說：「我們願意遵行耶和華的一切吩咐，我們願意順服。」摩西便把盆中的血灑在百姓身上，說：「這是立約的血，是耶和華按所說的話與你們立約的憑據。」

耶和華對摩西說：「把亞倫的杖放回約櫃前，讓叛逆之徒引以為戒。這樣，你就可以平息他們對我的怨言，使他們不致滅亡。」

於是，摩西吩咐亞倫：「拿個罐子盛滿兩升的嗎哪，放在耶和華面前，留到世世代代。」

約櫃裡除了兩塊石版，沒有別的東西。石版是以色列人離開埃及後，耶和華在何烈山跟他們立約時，摩西放進去的。

那時，有雲彩遮蓋會幕，耶和華的榮光充滿了聖幕。摩西不能進會幕，因為雲彩停在上面，耶和華的榮光充滿了聖幕。

「把這律法書放在你們的上帝耶和華的約櫃旁，作為指控你們的證據。

並在殿裡預備了放約櫃的地方。約櫃裡有耶和華的約，是祂把我們的祖先帶出埃及時跟他們立的。」

吹號的和歌樂手一起同聲讚美和稱謝耶和華，伴隨著號、鈸及各種樂器的聲音，高聲讚美耶和華：「祂是美善的，祂的慈愛永遠長存！」那時，有雲彩充滿了耶和華的殿，以致祭司不能在殿裡供職，因為殿裡充滿了耶和華上帝的榮光。

亞倫對以色列全體會眾說話的時候，他們向曠野遠望，果然看見耶和華的榮光在雲彩中顯現。

到了破曉時分，耶和華從雲柱火柱中俯視埃及軍隊，擾亂他們的隊伍。

耶和華的榮耀從基路伯天使的上面升起，停在殿的門口，殿裡充滿了雲彩，院子也充滿了耶和華榮耀的光輝。

耶和華的榮耀停留在西奈山上，密雲遮蓋了山六天。第七天，耶和華在雲中召喚摩西。在以色列人眼中，耶和華的榮耀在山上好像烈火。摩西上到山上，走進雲中，在那裡停留了四十晝夜。

耶和華對摩西說：「告訴你哥哥亞倫，他不可隨意進入幔子裡面的至聖所，走到約櫃上的施恩座前，免得死亡，因為我要在施恩座之上的雲彩中顯現。

耶和華走在他們前面，白天用雲柱為他們指示道路，晚上用火柱照亮他們，這樣他們可以日夜趕路。

安放約櫃的聖幕支起來那天，雲彩遮蓋了它。當晚，雲彩整夜像火焰一般。
