“ Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.

“我快要走完人世的路程了。你们深知你们的上帝耶和华赐给你们的一切美好应许没有一句落空，都已经应验了。正如你们的上帝耶和华已成就祂应许给你们的一切福气，如果你们违背祂，祂必照样降各样灾祸给你们，直到把你们从祂所赐的这美好土地上毁灭。

耶和华照着给他们祖先的应许，使他们四境安宁，没有仇敌能抵挡他们。耶和华将所有仇敌都交在了他们手中。耶和华给以色列人的美好应许没有一句落空，全部实现了。

撒母耳渐渐长大，耶和华与他同在，使他所说的话没有一句落空。

天地都要消逝，但我的话永不消逝。

祂怜悯我们的祖先，持守自己的圣约，就是祂对我们的先祖亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

但不久你们将渡过约旦河，定居在那片土地上。耶和华将使你们四境太平，安然居住，

等你们的上帝耶和华使其他以色列人和你们一样有了安身之所，占领了耶和华赐给他们的约旦河西之地后，你们才可以返回我分给你们的家园。’

祂扶助了自己的仆人以色列，祂要施怜悯给亚伯拉罕和他的子孙，直到永远，正如祂对我们祖先的应许。”

正如上帝曾说：“我在愤怒中起誓说，‘他们绝不可进入我的安息。’”但我们这些已经信的人能够进入祂的安息。其实造物之工自创世以来就已经完成了，因为圣经论到第七日时说：“第七日，上帝歇了一切的工。”又说：“他们绝不可进入我的安息。”既然最终会有人进入安息，而那些从前听过福音的人因为不信没能进去，上帝就另定了一个日子，称之为“今日”。正如多年后，祂借着大卫说：“你们今日若听见祂的声音，不可心里顽固。”如果当初约书亚已经让他们得到了安息，上帝就不必另定一个日子了。这样说来，必定另有一个安息日为上帝的子民存留，使他们可以真正安歇。

在那里，你们和儿女、仆婢及同城中没有分到土地作产业的利未人，要一起在你们的上帝耶和华面前欢喜快乐。

由此可知，耶和华对亚哈家的预言一句也没有落空。耶和华借祂仆人以利亚所说的一切都应验了。”

他还在犹大修筑坚城，那些年国中太平，没有战事，因为耶和华赐他平安。
