如人獲罪於爾、使天閉塞、雨澤不降、至殿祈禱、呼籲爾名、緣遘患難、去厥罪愆、

如民獲罪於主、致天閉塞不雨、而在此處祈禱、認主之名、主罰之之後、悛悔罪惡、

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them,

“ Suppose your people have sinned against you. And because of that, the sky is closed up and there isn’t any rain. But your people pray toward this place. They praise you by admitting they’ve sinned. And they turn away from their sin because you have made them suffer.

“ The time will come when the skies are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, and turn away from their sin because you punish them,

「當你的以色列子民因得罪你而敗在敵人手中時，如果他們回心轉意歸向你，承認你的名，在這殿裡祈禱，

否則，耶和華必向你們發怒，使天不下雨、地無出產，以致你們在祂賜給你們的佳美之地上迅速滅亡。

我要重挫你們的傲氣，使你們頭上的天如鐵，腳下的地如銅。

迦得就來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國內有七年饑荒呢？還是被敵人追殺三個月呢？還是國內發生三天瘟疫呢？請你考慮好後告訴我，我好回覆那差我來的。」

事實上，在以利亞先知的時代，天乾旱無雨達三年半之久，遍地有大饑荒。那時，以色列國有許多寡婦，

他們擁有權能，在傳道期間可以關閉天空使雨不降在地上，又有權使水變成血，並隨時用各樣的災禍擊打世界。

「所以主耶和華說，『以色列人啊，我必按你們各人的行為審判你們。你們要悔改，痛改前非，使你們不致死在罪惡中。你們要離棄從前所有的罪惡，洗心革面。以色列人啊！你們何必走向滅亡呢？』主耶和華說，『我斷不喜歡任何人死亡，你們要悔改，以便存活。』」

使外族人也因祂的憐憫而將榮耀歸給上帝。正如聖經上說：「因此，我要在列邦中讚美你，歌頌你的名。」

有一位先知名叫以利亞，是基列的提斯比人。他對亞哈說：「我憑我事奉的以色列的上帝——永活的耶和華起誓，如果我不禱告，這幾年必沒有雨水和甘露。」

願你晝夜看顧這殿——你應許立你名的地方！你僕人向著這地方禱告的時候，求你垂聽。你僕人和你的以色列子民向這地方祈禱的時候，求你從你天上的居所垂聽，赦免我們的罪。

你們舉手禱告，我必掩面不理。即使你們禱告再多，我也不會聽，因為你們雙手沾滿鮮血。你們要洗淨自己，停止作惡，不要讓我再看見你們的惡行。

祭司啊，穿著喪服痛哭吧；在祭壇前事奉的人啊，要哀號；我上帝的僕人啊，要披上麻衣過夜；因為再無素祭和奠祭獻到你們上帝的殿中了。你們要定一個禁食的日子，舉行莊嚴的聚會，召集全國的長老和人民，到你們的上帝耶和華的殿中，向耶和華呼求。太可怕了！耶和華的日子近了，那是全能者施行毀滅的日子。我們的糧食斷絕了，我們上帝殿中的歡樂消失了。種子在土裡腐爛，五穀乾死，倉庫荒廢，穀倉被拆毀。牲畜哀鳴，牛群因找不到草場而四處亂竄，羊群也受苦。耶和華啊，我向你呼求，因為火焰吞滅了曠野的草場，烈火燒光了田野的樹木。田野的走獸向你呼求，因為溪水已經枯乾，火也燒盡了曠野的草場。

但以色列人沒有歸向萬軍之耶和華，也不尋求祂。

以色列啊，你被自己的罪惡絆倒了，歸向你的上帝耶和華吧！

「人子啊，若有國家犯罪背叛我，我必伸手斷絕他們的糧源，使饑荒遍地，毀滅人和牲畜。

「祂要使你們頭頂的天如銅，腳下的地如鐵。「祂要使雨水變為塵土，降在你們身上，直到你們滅亡。

你若口裡承認耶穌是主，心裡相信上帝使祂從死裡復活，就必得救。

耶和華要為你們打開天上美好的倉庫，使你們風調雨順、凡事蒙福。你們必借貸給多國，卻無需向別國借貸。

耶和華告訴耶利米有關旱災的事：「猶大充滿悲泣，她的城邑衰敗，人人坐在地上痛哭，耶路撒冷哀鳴四起。貴族派僕人去水池打水，僕人去那裡發現沒有水，就帶著空瓶垂頭喪氣、羞愧難當地回去了。天不下雨，土地乾裂，農夫沮喪地抱著頭。因為沒有草，田野的母鹿拋棄了剛生下來的小鹿；因為沒有草，野驢站在光禿的山頭上像豺狼一樣喘氣，雙目無神。」耶和華啊，雖然我們的罪控告我們，我們屢屢叛逆得罪你，求你為了自己的尊名而拯救我們。

萬軍之耶和華說：「你們要把當納的十分之一全部送到我的倉庫，使我的殿中有糧。你們這樣試試，看我會不會為你們打開天上的窗戶，把祝福傾倒給你們，直到無處可容。」

「當你的以色列子民因得罪你而敗在敵人手中時，如果他們回心轉意歸向你，承認你的名，在這殿裡祈禱，

要在錫安山吹響號角，宣佈禁食的日子，舉行莊嚴的聚會。要招聚老人，聚集孩童，包括吃奶的嬰兒；要吩咐新郎出洞房、新娘出內室；要召集全體人民，讓他們潔淨自己。讓事奉耶和華的祭司站在聖殿門廊和祭壇中間，哭泣懇求說：「耶和華啊，求你顧惜你的子民，不要讓外族人侮辱、譏笑你的產業說，『你們的上帝在哪裡呢？』」
